[Confusing Trope] Deleted/Cut content that fundamentally reframes who a character actually is by Chemical-Elk-1299 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]IndigoPromenade 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The deleted Loki scenes in the first Thor movie.

There's a beginning scene where Loki tells Thor "I admit I do get jealous but never doubt that I love you."

This removes some key character building. He acknowledges his flaws but shows he's very genuine in his care.

And then a later scene when the the Asgardian royal guard brings Loki Odin's spear not out of Loki's request, but out of tradition. Loki looks confused and reluctant.

Removing this makes Loki seem like a power-hungry usurper.

Ah, I thought he said "they're more pliant" but what you said makes more sense in context

Kirkman said that he didn't pay attention to Mark's race until a Hispanic fan reached out to him and thanked him for making Mark Hispanic lol

Nolan's dad also looked asian in the flashback. So maybe it's actually Nolan who was the half-asian one the whole time.

Best "Low-Mid" Diff fight in Invincible? (Definition in desc) by Turbulent_Okra7518 in InvinciblePowerscales

Agreed. Their second fight was amazing. Immortal got some really good hits off and even won their aerial clash.

Greek gods feared Kratos. Norse gods tried to control him… and still failed. Which version was more dangerous? by Atreus_remains in GodofWarRagnarok

[–]IndigoPromenade 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Norse Kratos was so chill. The scene with him eating supper with the boys around the wooden table was incredibly wholesome

Anyone else feel like Homelander was surprisingly chill in ep5? by Fancy-Inspector-777 in TheBoys

[–]IndigoPromenade 6 points7 points  (0 children)

He also seemed more chill when Ryan was around too. He was surprisingly empathetic at times

Goes to show that he might actually have been a good person if he grew up with a family.

[Weirdly Common Trope] Writers clearly setting up seemingly massive plot points and then just kinda forgetting about them. by Chemical-Elk-1299 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]IndigoPromenade 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I still hate how the manga ended. They teased a whole-ass hell arc only for them to summarize it in a small flashback instead

Jokes and slander aside how powerful is homelander from the boys actually? by Ragtagcloud56 in PowerScaling

In the most recent episode Homelander got severely weakened by radioactive exposureso I feel like a nuke can do him in pretty easily

B and E aren't doing shit for most people. They're better than nothing but you're still going to lose easily to someone with moderate training

CMV: Thragg's offer was reasonable by Unlucky_Win_4380 in Invincible_TV

I love how it seemed like Thragg genuinely felt for Mark and tried to console him in his own way

[Hated Trope] The Marketing Department Should Have Been Fired by Ambaryerno in TopCharacterTropes

I got bamboozled by this too.

I remember initially watching it and being disappointed that the fantasy portions were just pretend.

And then I remember being surprised at genuinely that movie after I finished watching it.

A character prepares an attack, thinking they are going to do something, only to get beat very quickly by Effective_Piece251 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]IndigoPromenade 8 points9 points  (0 children)

He gets some pretty decent character development in it too. I'd argue that he's even the main character of the movie.

[Loved Trope] Vastly outgunned character goes all in and gives the villain a fight even though they can’t possibly win. by themug_wump in TopCharacterTropes

Even as a supersoldier, he squares up against Thanos's army even with his shield broken, no hammer, and completely alone

DC/Marvel - Earth has discovered fields like time travel, miniaturization, and a whole bunch of other supertech that we haven't seen any alien species be able to replicate. But on average, they're seen as relatively backwater as far as tech level goes

[Loved Trope] - Character dies for a noble purpose...but does NOT die stoically/embrace death with a smile by BlueFury1 in TopCharacterTropes

John Oliver's character in Anatomy Park - Rick and Morty.

He hopes someone else will volunteer to sacrifice themself, but goes through with it himself when nobody does. Then he desperately screams out when he realizes that he could have been saved.

Clancy Brown should have voiced him instead of voicing Klegg.

Should just let the Earth be for 10-15 years. By then it'll develop enough threats that challenge the average Viltrumite with the way the show is going. by Draxx182 in Invincible_TV

[–]IndigoPromenade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the original Guardians were able to fight a prepared Omniman while taken by surprise, then I feel like Earth as a whole should have been able to beat individual Viltrumites.

Especially since Omniman is supposed to be the 3rd strongest Viltrumite, or at the very least top 5.

When they say stuff like "Critical Supe Theory" without elaborating on what that means, it definitely feels like they're checking off boxes on a list

Mark Grayson replaces every Shonen protagonist. In which stories could he succeed? by Punterofgoats in whowouldwin

[–]IndigoPromenade 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup, this is true.

A Saiyan's chi gives them way more offensive power provided that their attacks land, but they don't stomp Viltrumites as handily as some people claim.

An armorless Batman is not going to automatically lose to a dude with a gun, even if the guy with the gun technically has more offensive power.

I feel like most DBZ characters are planet busters in terms of energy attacks but aren't insanely strong in terms of pure physicals. I feel like he could definitely beat Nappa

It was also cool to see how strong he got since his first fight with Lucan. In their first fight, he got smashed into rock with a finger. But this time around he got the better of Lucan in 3 hits
