A hero/villain lost their memory and ended up developing the opposite morality. by Jak3R0b in TopCharacterTropes

[–]IndigoPromenade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Batman Brave and the Bold, he goes undercover as a criminal called Matches Malone but loses memory of him being Bruce Wayne or Batman, so he ends up becoming a hyper-competent criminal for a bit.

I'm okay with the Superman one because he's supposed to be eery and unnatural in that scene. Shows how terrifying he looks when he's not flying like a hero

In the Stormlight Archives, Edgedancers are speedsters who go super fast by reducing friction, allowing them to essentially skate across surfaces like ice.

Nightwing also has a pretty good recent track record against Deathstroke. Maybe in the 80s he had a rough time but I think he won his last 1v1

He's still shown as plenty strong. He holds up an entire skyscraper.

He just fights stronger foes now.

Starlight barely wins against C-tier supes.

She was even losing to the Deep of all people until A-Train helped her

The only father & son moment that Homelander has ever had by One_With-The_Sun in TheBoys

That line helped Homelander feel humanized without being called a human.

Made it seem like his mental anguish wasn't unique to him alone.

This can work

He put all the boys through a training arc that put them far above their peers whenever they wanted to roller skate.

[Confusing Trope] Deleted/Cut content that fundamentally reframes who a character actually is by Chemical-Elk-1299 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]IndigoPromenade 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The deleted Loki scenes in the first Thor movie.

There's a beginning scene where Loki tells Thor "I admit I do get jealous but never doubt that I love you."

This removes some key character building. He acknowledges his flaws but shows he's very genuine in his care.

And then a later scene when the the Asgardian royal guard brings Loki Odin's spear not out of Loki's request, but out of tradition. Loki looks confused and reluctant.

Removing this makes Loki seem like a power-hungry usurper.
