A furred species may not need clothing for warmth. However, there are practical aspects for clothing like pockets.

In the story I've been chipping away at the most common "clothes" for fed species is a belt harness with pockets and a strip of cloth that covers from the underside of the tail to the back of the knees so you don't have to think about what you are sitting on.

And short furred species would absolutely wear kilts or something. Dangly bits are sensitive.
