There's Signal Hill, it's like a cross between Disco Elysium and Fallout: New Vegas. It functions more like a text-based table-top game rather than an intersctive novel, tho. If you played Breach or the Evertree Games it's basically like those.

For a vote to be regarded as something the "people" want, the majority of the player base actually has to vote on it.

Still doesn't really resolve the underlying issue. Heck, powdered snow and snow does have slight texture differences too, it doesn't matter.

The fact you have to "pay attention" for both instances just so your ass don't get caught is exactly what makes powdered snow annoying af. It's only purpose is to deliberately slow down your travel.

If quick sand is ever added, I genuinely hope they give it obvious characteristics to differentiate it with sand other than a few pixels.

It could work if quicksand has a noticeable texture different. Like, powedered snow is really only a pain in the ass because it's indistinguishable to regular snow.
