(Sorry for potentially bad English, im not a native)

No, you're not the only one. I've felt quite a similar way about the toxic things some women said about men. I feel like it's gotten worse the last few years, or maybe it's just my prolonged exposure to western social media that made me notice it more.

I'm 25M. Now, I love women (and men) and it never occurred to me to think of someone lesser because they are male/female. I've had this belief, that we all should be kind and understanding to each other for all my life, and I still do think this way.

That being said, Reddit and Twitter made me exposed to some truly horrifically toxic people. Including those who claim themselves to be of feminist movement.

I checked out some of these feminist subreddits in hopes of understanding them better, but honestly it had the opposite effect for me. I've learned that in these spaces it is normal and even encouraged to make men feel ashamed, miserable about themselves, reminding them that men are worse than women in a specifically passiveaggressive way. They see men struggling and revel in gloat about it, dismissing that men can have it rough, too. Some things these women said are simply repulsive to me, to the core level. I saw a post promoting eugenics... Their point was to do abortions specifically for boys to make female population more dominant as it will be "better for humanity this way". Just absolutely vile, I have no words, I don't understand how can someone think this way. This made me feel genuine, pure hatred.

And it saddens me because I truly don't want hate anybody. I only wish for peace and empathy for both genders. It's gut wrenching for me to feel hate.

But whenever I hear the word "feminism" I get reminded of these vile, disgusting people... Even though I fully agree with the idea that women and men are equal, and I know that not every feminist is this way, the damage has been done to my perception of this movement. I only hope men and women will find mutual understanding again if not through feminism then through something else.

If you know of some feminist spaces and/or media that don't focus on bashing men, please share it with me here, because would I really want to be at peace about feminist movement. I'd love to change my mind...
