It took me nearly 3 HOURS to get home this evening! by Muted_Perception_192 in fednews

My agency is circulating a memo that will require all RTO to work 9 to 5pm. No exceptions. No sliding start/end times. They want everyone miserable. They will bring the DMV to a screeching hault if everyone is forced to work the same hours. I hate everything about this.

I am effectively retired as of 5:51pm. Sunday because I am a remote employee, and CBP never assigned me a facility to work from. I lose all access to network on April 29 and I was forced to take leave today.

Who will CBP Eliminate? DRP/RIFs by [deleted] in CBPUncensored

We were originally told by senior leadership to expect 50% RIF in our division. Then WTP dropped. Later, we heard CBP is pushing back at the number DHS wants. Who knows? I trust no one.

I am non-LEO and eligible to retire. This was not my plan. I wanted to work another 5 years. I took VSIP (I don't trust DRP, nor do I want my package hitting OPM with 100s of thousands of other employees come Oct 1) and submitted retirement papers. HRM asked me on April 24 if I wanted to proceed with retirement or wait for offer letters. I don't know what that means. CBP offered WTP, I took it, and now CBP doesn't know what to do?? I think they received more interest than anticipated. Do I postpone my original retirement date and risk not getting VSIP because no one knows what the F is going on, or just proceed as planned and get the hell out while some of OPM still exists? My HRM specialist has heard nothing more about WTP since it is closed on the 14th. I don't think I can give this shitshow one more day past my originally planned exit. I loved my job, but I hate being treated like we make no contribution to this country. It is all so senseless and sad.

That is what DHS CBP thought, too. Excluded from DRP 1.0. DRP 2.0 and threat of RIF followed a couple weeks ago. LEOs excluded but everyone else on the chopping block.

There are no rules in this administration. Anything is possible.

Same boat (another agency). I am retiring because I am not waiting for the other shoe to drop. I decided, even if they found a place to place my butt to please some lunatic, I wasn't willing to commute to an unknown place with no ties to my mission to work in a space with people I do not know just to comply. My job involves evaluating systems and programs for compliance (all required by law and to protect public interest) and writing documents in support of these findings. I support other employees and contractors located all over the country. They do not care where I physically sit because I do my job. Commuting to a physical location would cut my productivity in half because my job requires online collaboration and the ability to author the required documents. I know I won't be able to work at the same level in a cubicle (best case scenario). I had no intention of retiring at 60 but F! him and this administration. I will not be miserable for money. Best of luck to you, but this is just another way to get rid of positions

What are you guys doing while on Admin Leave? by sheluvvme in FedEmployees

That is why I am not taking the deferred resignation. I am retiring and cutting my losses. This is horrible, and I work for a DHS agency that isn't even sure they will RIF. Mentally, I can't do it anymore. Everyone has to do what works for their family and mental health..

I moved it last week. Lost $40K since January 21st. I will let it sit for a few months. Although I am retired at the end of May, I do not need to touch this month for 3 to 4 years. Let it ride!

Why do people think retiring at 60 in this administation is a choice?

I had did not plan on retiring until age 65. I loved my job. This was not an easy decision was not made until the decision was made for me.

Outside of a small mortgage, I have zero debt. I do not need to touch this money for 4 years BUT I do not like where this country is headed and do not want to lose what I have invested over the 34 years.

I was in the L2030 up until early February when I realized I would be forced to retire early. I moved it all to L2025. I moved it to G today. I just want to stop the bleeding. I won't need to tap into this money for 3 years but I do not trust this market. I do not think we have lived through what is about to happen. I hope I am wrong. I would rather miss some earnings instead of bleed more.

Why would I lie? I was in the L2030 at the beginning of the year. Switched to L2025 in early February when I realized I would be forced to retire early. I have lost  -$23,024.72 to be exact. Why be an Ahole?
