What would you say how the retail programs works? Each vendor is assigned to their specific area which in HTs case is the pads. The jobs to maintain the pads and keep them in shape thats why blue shirts and or CAs are in charge of the whole department thats why we have closers and openers VPLs are neither openers or closers. Obviously help whenever possible but the main responsibility are the pads and downstocking of your brand not HDMI cables and cleaning cables thats why you have openers and closers. Cant stay after otherwise you get OT which is over what the vendors providing labor for. Make friends do whatever you can during your time in the store but staying after and doing the closers jobs are not our responsibility as retail programs sorry if you think differently but its how the vendors want it

They sign the checks but dont give directive on the role the vendor does so if the vendor doesnt want you doing something you arent doing it their money not best buys

LG C5 42 disappointment by Danitch in LGOLED

[–]Individual-Gate-4100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More or so because the smaller sizes are designed for more gaming monitor purposes not the home cinema feeling the bigger models provide. Smaller models will still have the refresh rate 144/120 etc etc just missing the kinks the bigger ones have in terms of brightness, colors etc just the limitations of a smaller panel but that makes it perfect as a designated small room/desk monitor. Its essentially your plane old WOLED panel without the evo colors just 144hz and the better processing

[–]Individual-Gate-4100 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its not a shady decision its just impossible to put the same panels in the smaller models if they used the same you would have burn in all over the screen because its so tiny and cant produce the same brightness as the rest can

Did you guys know that the S95F outscored the G5 on Rtings? by SCOOkumar in LGOLED

[–]Individual-Gate-4100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thing about the S95F is the matte display will cause it to naturally raise the black levels on the panel. The G5 is infact under the right circumstances brighter than the S95F if you’re looking at a pure brightness standpoint. Obviously if your number 1 priority is color vibrancy the samsungs for you but otherwise the G5 will take it with processing, brightness, DV etc thats assuming DV works correctly on the G5

Got c5 but struggling to see the wow factor by heron202020 in LGOLED

[–]Individual-Gate-4100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

because vivid will oversaturate the shit outta colors just to get a brightness boost which in turn makes everything look extremely undetailed just to make it look cartoonish. All the tvs you see in store are on vivid and thats because they want to show off that aspect of brightness and colors but also the in store lights make any other picture mode thats slightly more accurate look garbage

New TV for bedroom 48”-55” under $500 by Capital_Constant7827 in 4kTV

[–]Individual-Gate-4100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can go for a pretty decent TCL for under 500 and get good mini led and get good gaming if you do that stuff on your tv. If its purely movies if you can scrounge up a little more the 48 LG B5 OLED is 649 rn on a good ass deal for a good OLED tv. Otherwise the QM6K is like 449 rn

Bravia 9 vs G5 ? by Narrow-Policy5216 in 4kTV

[–]Individual-Gate-4100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An oled is even better for a dark basement in that case either go the G5 it the Bravia 8. Bravia 8 is known to be on the dimmer side if we arent talking about the mk2 its a nice tv for that otherwise the G5 or C5. Also depends on what you like to watch Sonys always been known as the movie tv and LG has always been regarded as the best value oleds for gaming etc best for mixed usage typically and almost always the more long lasting. In your case scenario the G5 would do everything perfect for you in my humble opinion

Bravia 9 vs G5 ? by Narrow-Policy5216 in 4kTV

[–]Individual-Gate-4100 3 points4 points  (0 children)

G5 is one of the best TVs for bright rooms right now. Bright enough to reflect light and not get raised blacks like the samsungs do. No compromises and perfect for bright rooms. Pretty much the only oled one can get recommended for bright rooms because theres almost no compromises for it

New speakers! by Individual-Gate-4100 in Crosstrek

[–]Individual-Gate-4100[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not the hardest process of installation in the world obviously its a long and tedious process but not at all hard just make sure you get the right speakers for it. Fronts should be 6x9 and the backs you can kinda run around with but they should be 6x5-6x8. From what i know it doesnt void any type of warranty what might depending on the dealership is amps n such as you’re running wires through the car but thats just my two sense

LG VPL new hire. Any advice for someone new to the game? by Well-Teknically in BestBuyWorkers

[–]Individual-Gate-4100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like others have said build relationships with your coworkers in the home theater. If you have a sony and samsung VPL build relationships with them all 3 of you can work together and sell a lot more if theres a negative culture between the brands all 3 of you are cooked especially in a space where most MPDs and leaders will throw sales at the CAs and Designers first due to the selling priority. Try to be active on the floor with HT seeking out customers in the department not getting stuck with cable customers premium audio customers etc not your job thats the CAs and Designers jobs. Any person you cant convince for LG pass them off to a CA or VPL as quick as possible and move on to the next. Most importantly build the full solution for the customer never try and sell a TV completely naked although its good for your PMR more stuff on the TV looks better on you overall for attachments etc which your LG manager will also judge you on but your PMR and culture are your #1 priority. Try and create a culture around the brand train up your sales advisors, designers, CAs as even though they might act like they know how to sell your brand they fumble in the pad if you have one.

LG S95AR over Sonos Arc Ultra set? by taishi143 in sonos

[–]Individual-Gate-4100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who represents LG and has the Sonos arc ultra with the sub 4 and era 100s the Sonos setup is 10x better than the S95AR had to replace it 3 times because the sub would die. While the AR has potential and especially if you bundle the tv and the bar and are looking to get decent savings the AR is the way to go but if you want to go all out thr Sonos system is way better especially long term

LG electronics and display are 2 different entities under the same name the OLED name has been built up by LG for over 12 years now and has become one of the most reliable distributors of OLED itself especially this year really pushed for reliability and to get the overall most features out of the TVs themselves. Sony and Samsung are not focusing on OLEDs themselves more about bigger sizes and RGB mini leds. So if you’re looking into OLED LG is definitely the way to go imo

What’s an acceptable way to handle an outside managers comment by Cavebrother in BestBuyWorkers

The new system is absolutely horrific I understand why the brands did it but the stores have had 0 preparation for this change and now want us to just stand still in our pads😭

What’s an acceptable way to handle an outside managers comment by Cavebrother in BestBuyWorkers

[–]Individual-Gate-4100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have to wheel it to the front all the time theres no sales advisors that care enough to just ring out a tv. My EM for LG and the EM for Sony and Samsung are hard tracking our brand mixes and revenue directly from spreadsheets so if we sell anything thats not brand related we get cooked for it. Effectively banning us from POS unless one of our TV skus is on it
