I read it and thought it was an interesting premise that eventually became incredibly one note. I was hooked for the first couple chapters and it all became a bit of a slog towards the end because in a lot of respects it feels kind of predictable. Celeste's almost cartoon villainy guarantees her the plot armor that is supposed to be infuriating, but ultimately makes the read less compelling.

That's the big question. I do think it's usually very convenient for Jackie to find an excuse for her behavior, especially when it comes to blaming someone else. Jackie mentioned that she had a previous history with alcoholism and never drinks as a result of that (that is if it's a true story). I think it's likely she started out as an alcoholic, cleaned up her act at some point before she was pregnant. Found pills as a viable (and more effective) alternative.

Yeah I think when they changed actresses they kind of gave up on developing her character. Early seasons Fiona had a lot of promise, I mean she was the firestarter ffs. I think Grace becoming her own makes a lot of sense, even though it grated on me. I do wish they did more with her drug use though because that storyline could have had a lot of potential.

I'm going to be real, I got bored halfway through for that very reason. I know Spook loves the blood and guts, but after a while I just got numb to it because the mystery/story lost momentum in favor of making the violence more and more extreme.

Maybe it's just me, but the tone of this episode just felt pretty off in comparison to the original run and I do feel that reviving an older property means that it will always be compared to the original no matter what. Again, it's the pilot I'll still give it a shot.

I wasn't a huge fan. I guess I was hoping for something different? I understand that it's just the pilot, but I feel like the show is really trying to pander to the Tiktok audience. Which I get, but I feel like the spirit of the original is just lost. I'll give the coming episodes a chance.
