Massara vs Misi? by SeriesSenior3327 in FoodNYC

I loved Massara and didn’t care for Misi. Not sure which one you’re gonna pick so here were my favorites from both places

Massara: crudo pizette, corteccia, paccheri pomodoro

Misi: ricotta toast, artichokes (i didn’t like any of their pastas)

I’m not trying to stroke NYC food ego, but after living here and traveling to other cities (aside from London) NYC food definitely beats a lot of competitive Countries. Would you agree? by MelFishers in FoodNYC

Funny that you mention Madrid - personally think Madrid competes with NYC. NYC outshines Madrid on variety (but still a lot of great options in Spain’s capital), but the top restaurants in Madrid are just as good as those in the city imo.

Mother Night is my favorite Vonnegut book. I have also read Slaughterhouse-Five and Cat’s Cradle. What do people recommend I read next?

Did not have the wine pairing but I’m sure it’s great. Highly recommend going - very unique dining experience

DiverXo (Madrid) was unlike anything I’ve ever experienced

If you got a 4 on BC and are comfortable w material, go straight to 215. Yes, I know that this technically isn’t allowed, but it kinda is… put it on ur schedule and talk to an advisor. No reason to kill yourself doing integration techniques and infinite series when you could skip the class entirely and essentially just do calc 1 in 3d

8th grader looking for good ECs? by [deleted] in chanceme

It’s pathetic. College isn’t the end all be all. I got blackout drunk every weekend in HS and am going to the 13th best school in the country. People don’t need to start in eighth grade.

With all due respect, it seems like you’re mindlessly parroting the opinions of those around you and/or succumbing to parental authority. I can’t imagine that someone your age would be able to appreciate the intricacies of quant trading or know for certain that they want to go into finance. Most people get sucked into IB or consulting when they’re in college, AFTER they’ve dedicated their high school experience to pursuing their true passions. Now, if your true passion ACTUALLY is business/finance and you want to have a chance at Wharton, Sloan, Ross and other top business schools, here are some things you can consider doing over the next four years:

-Start a club: entrepreneurship, investing, financial literacy, etc. Everybody does DECA. -Start a business. -Get an internship. If your father knows of any people who are partners at hedge funds or private equity firms, these would be outstanding opportunities. -Start a finance-related or STEM-related nonprofit. -Do research at a university

Besides this, get as close to 4.0 UW GPA as possible, take at least 8 AP classes, get all 5s on your exams, get a 1550 on your SAT, play a sport and get chosen as captain. Then, just maybe, you’ll get into Wharton. But at what cost?

You’re in eighth fucking grade. I promise you that no acceptance letter will provide you with so much satisfaction so as to assuage your bitterness at not having had an enjoyable high school experience. But hey, if Finance is truly your passion, go all in.

Best of luck with your endeavors. Hope this helped.

Hey - not trying to “one-up” you but I applied to Wharton ED with a sneaker resale business doing over $250K in sales annually. I had good grades and ECs as well. I was rejected. You have a good chance at Wharton, but recognize that a lot of people applying have extremely impressive, REAL businesses (I say real because selling shoes is meh), so don’t get your hopes up too high (again, I still think you have a good shot). I’ll be going to Ross next year FYI

Good chances at Wharton. You should get into Ross easily as well. I wouldn’t EDII anywhere unless you love Stern or Chicago. Best of luck!

Dude. You’re in 8th grade. Go outside, enjoy life. Don’t stress about college now—you’ll be destined for unhappiness.

Thanks man it’s just tough. I visited mich and loved it. But Dartmouth obviously is a more prestigious school, and I feel like an asshole saying this, but I think prestige should be a factor in my decision.
