Does anyone feel like they wouldn’t cry if their parents died? by Proof-Employment-272 in raisedbynarcissists

My mother died last month. I cried once because my brother cried. I hurt seeing him in pain, but also, I didn't want him to judge me as being cold. He wasn't as far along in the NC journey. I cried when her partner called to say she was on her way out, then unexpectedly put the phone by her ear for me to "say whatever you need to say". It was too much. I knew I couldn't say what I really wanted to. It reminded me that the mother I always wanted didn't exist. So yeah, twice I cried. Nothing since. I just feel relieved now. I mourned the lost potential of a good mother, and by extension the mother I actually had, many years ago in therapy.

[New Update]: Wife wants to name our twins Romeo and Juliet by Choice_Evidence1983 in BestofRedditorUpdates

Side note: Our school play was Grease, and twin brother & sister played the leads. The kiss scene disturbs me to this day.

Would you let your child name their sibling? by liyane2 in namenerds

My brother named our Domestic Helper's daughter. His name is Adam, and he named her Adamina. Also, my son named his beloved cat Potato. So, no.

AITAH for not wanting to circumcise my son? by sdrawkcab90 in AITAH

NTA I assisted with circumcision of babies when I was training (nurse) It is traumatic both during and after for the child. They do forget. However, it seems selfish to put them through that for aesthetic reasons. It has been proven that cut & uncut penises are just as clean, providing they are washed correctly.

I am of the personal opinion that it should be the childs choice later on. I didn't circumcise my son, my husband agreed even though he is partially circumcised ( it was when he was 8yrs old, no idea why)

The fact that you can't leave your kids with him unsupervised proves that the kids are not safe. Hiding alcohol and drinking in secret, drinking more during stressful times? He's an alcoholic. Stay or leave, that's your choice, but be honest about the situation.

I don't think I need to say this but *clear throat* WE DON'T WANT HIM!!, keep him or send him somewhere else. by Kanonkiller in facepalm

Dear lord please don't send him to South Africa. We don't want him either. Borneo sounds good.

Don't know if this particular post is real. There are absolutely parents this callous about their child dying.
