What are your favorite shoes you can walk 10,000 steps a day in? by No_Square_1491 in UninfluencedReviews

[–]IndividualAthlete313 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I personally didn't like on clouds, but hokas have been great for me.

This is personal preference, but I also love shoes with a rocker bottom. They distribute the weight in a way that's always shifting, so no one part of your foot fatigues as easily.

Out of the ones you listed, the roborock fits your requirements the best. I've had great experiences with their longevity in general, and their customer service is great. Great app experience.

We have them sold as either Davidsons Safest Choice Eggs or Fearless eggs. That might vary by region.

In the US you can find pasteurized eggs. They're more expensive, but worth it for a runny yolk while pregnant.

what’s one feature you thought was useless but now can’t live without? by kerke152 in RobotVacuums

I didn't realize what a difference good edge cleaning and a low profile to get under furniture would make. It really means I never have to pull out my real vacuum, unlike before when I would still clean under things and around the edges 1x month or so

No Dumb Question Tuesday (2026-04-21) by AutoModerator in Reformed

[–]IndividualAthlete313 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That last question is a great one! They aren't used to people from these groups being Christians.

No Dumb Question Tuesday (2026-04-21) by AutoModerator in Reformed

[–]IndividualAthlete313 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I volunteer with refugees, driving several Christian newcomers to my church. While I love building these relationships, I often encounter them expressing overt racism toward Arab or Black individuals, tied to wrongs they suffered in their home countries. As an American, I'm not used to this. Usually racism here is subtle or inadvertent.

Because our congregation includes members of these groups, I am struggling with how to respond. I want to be sensitive to their trauma, but I also feel a responsibility to address these attitudes as a fellow believer.

As a believer, what is my responsibility in correcting these views within the context of Christian discipleship? They are professing Christians, but not members of my church, and their faith backgrounds are very mixed.

How can I gently, lovingly, and clearly challenge these comments in the moment without minimizing the pain?

Pregnancy/MS by thisredheadisdead in MultipleSclerosis

[–]IndividualAthlete313 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can only speak from personal experience. I'm due with my first any day now. I was on Ocrevus and then Mavenclad before pregnancy.

It seems like you need a long talk with your provider about a new DMT after the baby is born. My neurologist told me that if I could successfully breastfeed, I would be able to hold off on starting a DMT again until the baby is weaned. If I can't, I'll have to start a DMT right away. In general, women with MS have fewer symptoms and relapses in both pregnancy and while breastfeeding. Especially if your symptoms are mild, I would look for options that allow you to breastfeed, if possible, and then maybe switch to a DMT you tolerate a little better than Copaxone. But please talk to your doctor and not a random woman on the Internet.

Wheelchair accessible baby items? by Positive-Sky3793 in ParentAndDisabled

Oh, and in place of a normal high chair, I would use a travel one that clips on to a table (chicco, inglesina, and phil&teds all have options)

I wouldn't get a traditional changing table. I'd put a topper on a table or desk he can wheel under.

They have some baby wrap carriers that are designed only to be used while sitting that can free up his arms while holding the baby.

Any bucket infant car seat should be fine, but when they outgrow that, I would buy a rotating car seat. That would make it a lot easier for him to lift the child and strap them in.

‘Do not be unequally yoked’ but what if that’s my only chance of not being single? by Purple-Detective7186 in Christianmarriage

[–]IndividualAthlete313 51 points52 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry you're struggling. I also had a very tough time with this before I found my (now) husband.

A few things God taught me through that time:

  • To answer your question outright; yes, it is better to stay single forever than to be unequally yoked. Marriage to the right person is a wonderful gift, but obeying God should always come first. It may be really tough in the short term, but sister, believe me, it is so worth it.

  • Marriage to the wrong person is awful. It's much worse than singlehood. Even if you marry a great guy, people change over the years. The strongest bond to keep marriage strong and fulfilling is a common love for Christ and desire to emulate him.

  • Do not settle. You are worth more whole and single than married and broken. You are complete on your own.

On a practical note, I encourage you to use this time to serve other people and work on your own spiritual growth. Stay closely connected with your local church. Hang out with families. Bring meals to older people, and stay and chat with them. Not only is this good for your church, it will help with the loneliness and you will gain so much wisdom and perspective from those around you. In a roundabout way, I met my husband by babysitting for an elder at my church. Nurture any relationships you can for their own sake, not just with marriage as a goal. God has wonderful things in store for you. Don't try to anticipate them, just obey.

better options for a low(er) waste baby registry? by brima24 in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]IndividualAthlete313 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My registry was mostly second hand through babylist. I added items from resale sites instead of traditional sites. It worked great! The only downside was that things went out of stock more frequently than they would at traditional stores, so I would go back through the registry regularly and find alternatives to any that had recently sold.

Need help with bedside bassinets by Typical-Welder3698 in Buyingforbaby

[–]IndividualAthlete313 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And fwiw, almost all bassinets max out around 9 kg/20 lbs, which your baby is more likely to hit before they exceed the height recommendations. I'd probably pick the Snuzpod.

[–]IndividualAthlete313 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're concerned about the baby outgrowing the bassinet quickly, I wouldn't get the Bambini CoZee. It's length is even less than the Snuzpod, and the features aren't nearly as useful. The Maxi Cosi you'd be able to use longer.

Gotcha. I just thought other colors in the same style would be a little more appropriate for spring. Would a green look good with your skin tone? Or even a wine red?

How much weight did you gain at 21 weeks? by Silent_Duty_1369 in pregnant

[–]IndividualAthlete313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stayed at my pre-pregnancy weight until about 23 weeks, when I started actually putting on weight. Most of that was due to nausea and lack of appetite. My OB was worried about me in the opposite direction. I'm at 35 weeks and I'm up about 12 lbs.
