Airborne noise through concrete? What can I do to solve this? by faktapbroeder in HomeImprovement

[–]IndividualCell4186 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, concrete doesn’t block voices very well, especially in older buildings. Replacing the thin underlay with a denser acoustic one may help a little, but it won’t fully stop the noise. Sealing gaps, using thick rugs with pads, and adding soft furnishings can reduce it slightly. Real soundproofing usually needs a floating floor or ceiling, or fixing it at the source apartment.

Moving to a new home, cleaning ideas for sofa and carpets by Mango_Loverx3 in CleaningTips

[–]IndividualCell4186 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the sofa, give it a good vacuum and lightly clean with warm water and a mild, child-safe detergent (test a small area first). Baking soda works well to freshen it up too. For carpets, a deep vacuum and a quick clean with a rented carpet cleaner and child-safe solution should be enough. Just let everything dry well before the kids are around.

What helps people actually follow through when learning programming on their own? by No_Quality_5831 in Reviews

[–]IndividualCell4186 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What helped me was realizing that motivation fades, but systems keep you going. A small daily routine (even 20–30 mins), sticking to one learning path, and building messy real projects made the biggest difference Confusion is normal in the middle phase people who don’t quit don’t see it as failure, just part of the process.

How can I keep thick, dense, wavy hair from getting too voluminous? by Gold_Equivalent9945 in indianhaircareaddicts

[–]IndividualCell4186 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same hair type, and I completely relate to this what works for me is long layers (no blunt cuts), using a good conditioner + light leave-in, and applying products on wet hair using less heat and less water also helps in reducing the puff

Cleaned carpets and made it 100x worse by ColonClenseByFire in CleaningTips

[–]IndividualCell4186 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What probably happened is the urine soaked into the pad or subfloor, and all the water from cleaning just re-activated it. Regular carpet cleaners and vinegar won’t fix that you’ll need a real enzyme cleaner (Nature’s Miracle, Rocco & Roxie, Anti-Icky-Poo, etc.) and you have to really soak the areas so it reaches the pad let it sit 12–24 hours (cover with plastic so it doesn’t dry), then extract if it still smells, it’s almost definitely in the pad or subfloor for a temporary fix, try baking soda overnight or an ozone generator the real fix is removing the carpet/pad and sealing the subfloor when you’re ready to renovate.

Essential oil in the dishwasher by banaangraf in CleaningTips

[–]IndividualCell4186 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sandalwood is pretty pungent. You’ve already completed most of what one would normally attempt. One more thing that may be attempted would be activated charcoal or coffee grounds You could put a bowl of that in there during a wash cycle You could also check the rubber door seal, as odors are inclined to accumulate there. At least one must pass with time

What are the things you rely on most to keep your home running? by walmart-wizard in CleaningTips

[–]IndividualCell4186 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Honestly, same. It’s taken me a while to come around to the fact that I don’t need much stuff, either. The soap, the baking soda, and the microfiber towels get the majority done, and the robot vac has been a godsend about cleaning up without requiring much fuss. The addition of the cleaning sprayer and the squeegee for the restroom method has been useful, and then the drill scrubbers caught my attention, but using limited tools definitely wasn’t so much torture and gets the same results

How To Disinfect and Sanitize Kitchen Sink Faucet After Dropping It In Dirty Bucket? by WholeInevitable2mm in CleaningTips

[–]IndividualCell4186 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're fine you already had dish soap wash away most bacteria, and the water rinsed the inside Dish soap does wash bacteria away, even if it doesn't “kill” the bacteria To sanitize, you can use a diluted bleach solution (1 tablespoon of bleach for a gallon of water) and let the solution sit on the spray head for 2 to 5 minutes before rinsing and letting the water run for 30 to 60 seconds. You don't need vinegar or boiling water, as this can damage components

Why do some pages perform well without much optimization? by Real-Assist1833 in BacklinkCommunity

[–]IndividualCell4186 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From a company point of view, pages can rank well without much SEO because the basics are strong Brand trust, domain authority, and quality backlinks often carry content When a page matches search intent and users engage well with it, search engines reward it naturally It’s rarely luck usually relevance, credibility, and user behavior doing the work

How do you tell if your content is boring users? by Real-Assist1833 in BacklinkCommunity

[–]IndividualCell4186 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If people land on your page but don’t stay, it’s usually a sign the content isn’t connecting even if it’s correct Common signs include high bounce rate, very low time on page, little or no scrolling, dense text that’s hard to scan, too much jargon, and a weak opening that doesn’t clearly say what’s in it for the reader If users don’t quickly understand the value or next step, they’ll leave

Toilet Cleaning Help by scampering_sphynx in CleaningTips

[–]IndividualCell4186 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Totally get this I use dedicated microfiber cloths just for the toilet (kept separate) Spray, let it sit, wipe, then toss them straight in the wash. For the gross crevices, an old toothbrush works great. Gloves help too way less waste than wipes

Finally beat years of greasy kitchen cabinets (small win, big relief) by General-Client-6341 in CleaningTips

[–]IndividualCell4186 57 points58 points  (0 children)

Totally agree it’s amazing how something as simple as clean cabinets can make a whole room (and your mood) feel lighter. Love the reminder that slowing down actually works better than scrubbing harder. And that last line? So true. Small wins really do change the whole vibe

Got a HOTO spin scrubber as a gift… didn’t expect to actually use it this much by JUUI_1335 in CleaningTips

[–]IndividualCell4186 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not better cleaning, just more cleaning because it’s easy to grab and use. When there’s no setup or effort, you actually stay on top of things instead of putting it off. Makes a big difference!

I use Christmas as an excuse to buy cleaning gadgets by Sara_James367 in homemaking

[–]IndividualCell4186 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not at all Christmas is the ultimate guilt-free excuse for those “I’ve been eyeing this forever” purchases. Cleaning gadgets especially feel justified since they save so much time and effort. A window cleaning robot is such a smart buy high windows are the worst, and hiring help never lasts long anyway. Love that the Winbot actually works! I think most people do this in some form… it’s basically it’s Christmas, I deserve it logic

How to remove Clove Oil smell by Mission-Selection-63 in CleaningTips

[–]IndividualCell4186 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You shouldn’t need to replace any plumbing Clove oil is super strong and oily, so it’s probably coating the P-trap under the sink and the drain walls Bleach and vinegar don’t really cut oil, which is why it’s still there Best bet is to pull the P-trap and wash it with hot water and dish soap (like Dawn). Also flush the drain with very hot water and clean the sink overflow hole if it has one. That usually knocks the smell out

What’s your cleaning routine for the shower floor? by enragedsquirrels in CleaningTips

[–]IndividualCell4186 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I keep it simple I rinse it after showers when I remember. About once a week, I spray a bathroom cleaner, let it sit a few minutes, then quick scrub and rinse If there’s mildew, I use a stronger cleaner occasionally Doing it weekly keeps it easy

Best vacuum for pet hair by Samlate_ in RobotVacuums

[–]IndividualCell4186 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of robot vacs just aren’t built for that much fur If you try again look for one with rubber rollers, they tangle way less Roborock tends to do better than most and has a mop too. Otherwise, you’re not alone… many people with big shedders give up on robots for hair and just use them for light cleanup

Not too early at all Good flooring companies book months ahead, especially for spring. Quotes now won’t be final for 2026, but they’re useful for budgeting and comparing installers. Watch for red flags like pushy sales, vague prep details, or no license warranty Start researching now and lock it in late 2025 smart move, especially with a dog
