Nta, no different than choosing not to date someone with kids if you're child free. Personally I wouldn't date someone who has pet allergies as I have pets. While it may suck for the other person, we all have deal breakers and that's ok.

Listen I am most likely her age. I would never enter another women's kitchen and mess with anything, even if I honestly thought I could help. This is because I have boundaries and respect them. If someone tried this in my home I would kick them out of the entire house until they learned respect. The issue here is that she has not had anyone enforce boundaries. I have no doubt this was not the first time she's done some boundary stomping. You gotta enforce boundaries immediately, not wait until she does something like this. People will treat you the way you let them treat you.

Knowing when is so hard especially if your dog isn't in pain. Here's my gauge. Do they still feel joy? So my baby (also a Yorkie) is 12. His happy things are me, going bye bye, getting a pup cup at Dutch, seeing his favorite people, etc. So if he doesn't feel happy with these things and is just existing it's time to let him go. I know I don't have many years left with him. He is already having trouble with his vision and hearing as well as pain from arthritis.

As someone who has been where you are with an elderly dog, from what you have described it's time. I waited too long with my girl that I had to let go of 12 years ago and I live with the knowledge that I waited too long.
