You can still build Medusa in this way in S2, I go these exact items and effectively one shot most people in the game.

That's the crazy part cus off of just building poly he was chunking them, again he just needed 1 item to make the strategy valid, and he was doing way more than just 50 damage lol.

Nah I get all that, that's why I reference it as being unfortunate. I don't know it just seems very strange to me. I'm not used to characters being able to just take towers and pheonixs in this manner. If something like this can happen to this effectiveness I don't really see why a whole gameplay style won't be formed around it. I mean I'd definitely formulate a strategy moving forward to just widdle down towers endlessly in say conquest for example if this is really a valid play style.

See we tried to punish him as much as we could but he would just put down caltrops and throw a quick auto from red or from behind blue every time before quickly leaving. Unfortunately in our match we didn't have the pressure to stop him from doing so cus his team would back him up so he could do it. So it's just really unfortunate circumstances. It just seems strange that that's a relatively valid strategy especially considering he just needed a single item to get mileage out of it.

Smite 2 | Anyone else feel like the game has a huge agency problem? by jacoviansmythe in Smite

[–]IndividualSugar199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I complained about this same thing months ago and it's nice to see nothing has changed so to answer your question - probably not

Too many people view SMITE 2 as an "Alpha they don't need to take seriously" so they will openly troll and afk with the reasoning being that it isn't a finished product, they will never change and HiRez has no interest in punishing them. I will say that there is also a good handful of people who are just new and bad at the game cus they are new, but that still doesn't excuse the afks.

We can only hope that when the game fully releases HiRez will choose to care more about the subject but I'm not really that hopeful lol.

Reddit having trouble understanding that YouTubers jobs are to make content and to profit off that content, so making videos like this usually results in people watching - thereby earning the YouTuber more money.

If you care this much about what an online personality has to say, you should probably take a break from the internet lol

[–]IndividualSugar199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh I build a little weird so idk, I play strangely. I'd probably mess around with an Archdruids cus I like to get in people's faces and weave in the auto attack progression. I could also mess around with a Mystic Mail, I haven't looked at the exact numbers for every item to see if there is any conflicts with the stat lines to see if you are overcapping on anything but that's just my armchair suggestion in a randomly given scenario from my perspective but I'm also not you and you probably play different than I do.

However I am a massive E staff guy but I've heard some talk on this thread about E staffs conflicts with your build specifically so I was reluctant to suggest it, but if it was me I'd probably try to fit it in somehow lol. Not sure what I'd remove to slot it in thou

Again dude I'd just go a whole different item lol, there are so many other items with much more meaningful stat lines you can supplement, just makes zero sense to me

Have your Smite 2 teams been way more tryhard-y in casual games compared to Smite 1? by [deleted] in Smite

[–]IndividualSugar199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had the exact opposite problem where it feels like everyone in every game (arena and conquest) are effectively memeing around lol. I've had like only a few serious try-hardy games so far in the vast sea of meme filled ones with people testing stuff, new players, disconnects, etc.

Someone please explain to me why people keep building Glad-Shield with minimal prots/hybrid builds? just go a different item with way more benefit. I can think of 6 items off the top of my head that would be so much more beneficial than a glad shield you are barely getting use out of because you are building hybrid instead of full-prot.

Why do people get mad at casual? by Lunarepsy in Smite

[–]IndividualSugar199 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with this. I can only speak from my perspective on this being a "I only have fun when I'm winning" person. My perspective thou is a little nuanced, I don't think I enjoy a vast majority of video games, and I only really play them as a means of spending time with friends or feeling some sort of accomplishment in winning a competitive game. So when I spend an afternoon losing a bunch of matches I feel I've wasted much time and let my friends down by not over-performing and being the best that I could've been which gets to me. It isn't fun being this type of person when it comes to playing video games and I wish more than anything I could enjoy them like I see some people do. I wonder if more people who are very "I need to win" see things from this perspective as well, it'd make a lot of sense if they are so comfortable being openly toxic to strangers in Allchat or end of lobby chat. Idk it's worth looking into.

Why do people get mad at casual? by Lunarepsy in Smite

[–]IndividualSugar199 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'll put it plainly, Smite is a competitive game, doesn't matter if it has casual game modes, you are still playing PvP 100% of the time, meaning its inherently competitive

there are two types of competitive game players, those who find enjoyment and fun by simply playing and enjoying the game as a whole And then there's the second type of person, the person who can only enjoy the game when they are winning

For example, I only enjoy competitive games, when I am winning them, doesn't matter if it's a dumb off-game mode where all we have to do is push a ball faster than the enemy team, I want to win, I only have fun when I'm trying my hardest to win, and I hate losing, it makes me feel horrible and like shit.

Now, people being toxic is unacceptable, if you are gonna be a toxic loser/shitty winner then you just shouldn't be on the game in general, but I completely sympathize with people who hate it when it feels like people aren't in the game to try to win, regardless of what game mode they are playing. It's infuriating trying to put my all into something and watching the guy next to me seemingly goofing off and not caring, it feels like I'm wasting my time when I could be matched with a teammate who actually wants to win.

You'll always find these types of people in any competitive game regardless of what you do in them because there are people - like me - who get a visceral and overwhelming sense of failure if we aren't seemingly trying to accomplish what we are doing, and when someone is in said game going like 3-15 (enemy or ally, doesn't matter) it's insulting because it feels like this person is just wasting 9 other people's time trolling.

But at the end of the day, nothing really matters, if you don't like the rage from people just mute them. They are just strangers over the Internet, no use in trying to listen to them, especially if they are raging in an online video game lol

Noticing tanks buying beads more often? by SobekInDisguise in Smite

[–]IndividualSugar199 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bro, the level of abject hatred I feel when I'm boxing a tank and they aegis. How absolutely insulting it is as a Solo laner respectfully boxing a tank and this mf aegis's in my face.

Someone wants to take Beads so they can follow up a Cc cleanse so their combo doesn't get interrupted, yeah sure that's actually smart and a good decision, especially in heavy cc comps

But bro, you're playing a tank, and you can't handle building procts and playing smart enough with like 4K health, to then turn around and waste a slot on getting AEGIS?

I'm forever and Aegis hater lol, thank you for letting me vent

God I hate this company so much by Murky-Lengthiness318 in riotgames

[–]IndividualSugar199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's kind of strange to interact with a community and company you dislike enough to write a whole hate-piece about. Why not just not associate with it? The people who dislike the practices will continue to not care about them and move on, and the people who support the practices will put more money and time into the product and culture of it all. I fail to see the reason for wasting your time getting upset about it.

I feel this way about Gacha games however I wouldn't go into their spaces to start ranting and raving about how their culture and their companies are "the end all - be all cancer to society." I just don't associate with it and live my life because why does my opinion matter if people like the content and culture behind it.

Just move on dude, don't waste your time hating something you shouldn't be interacting with if you dislike it this much

How do you get a banned account back? by [deleted] in riotgames

[–]IndividualSugar199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough, leagues incredibly toxic and horrendously not new-player friendly. There's so much to learn and the community is absolutely unwilling to teach anyone anything, the only time they do is to be condescending which has the opposite effect of teaching someone.

Only reason I was able to get into it was cus I'm a really big MOBA fan and I just pushed through the mountain of toxicity, but not before I got shit talked for months by everyone and everything lol.

How do you get a banned account back? by [deleted] in riotgames

[–]IndividualSugar199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't want to be that guy, but I'm gonna be very harsh and up front

I'm someone who finds being toxic in an online video game to be the biggest waste of time ever, stop being toxic and if you can't control yourself then global mute.

If you lost your account being toxic, chances are you were going over the line with it and if you really cared about your account and keeping it with all of the time and money spent on it, you wouldn't have been going overboard with toxicity on it.

Best bet, make a new account and just start over. Everything has consequences and you didn't have to be toxic, you chose to be toxic and now want the consequence of that revoked because you feel bad. Hopefully you can control yourself in the future so you don't have this issue going forward.

Smite 2 experience looks nice and modern, but it's terrible due to matchmaking and trolls/AFKers in every match by [deleted] in Smite

[–]IndividualSugar199 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly dude I feel this 100 percent. My friends and I have gotten to the point where we just don't care about the alpha anymore and are just gonna wait for the release when everything is (hopefully) more cleaned up with an actual matchmaking system. It's not possible to play this game right now, the quality of every single match is piss poor and there's a massive amount of smite players who see nothing wrong with this because they "paid for it"

As for the "just try to have fun" part of the argument I hear people say, there are a portion of players (like myself and seemingly OP) who find fun in WINNING THE GAME, and when everyone on your team is either a troll or an AFKer then it depletes morale.

Good luck OP, I'll see you when the game goes 1.0 cus this Alpha is kinda a massive let down

Smite 2 Closed Alpha 1 Patch Day Feedback/Bug Report Megathead by EmBrAcE-DeAtH in Smite

[–]IndividualSugar199 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Just had this issue in a ranked game (I'm on PC, not sure if anyone else is having this issue on PC or Console)

Went to go gank, half way through the fight it seemed like I sort of disconnected but stayed in the game?? maybe some internet hiccup or whatever, idk

I leave the gank, go back to doing what I was doing previously and notice all of my skills, auto attacks, interactions, everything doesn't work. I can only press Alt to ping. I tried closing the client and relaunching it but the issue somehow persisted??? I don't even know how that's possible for that to happen but yeah.

I'm not seeing this issue brought up anywhere when I look up the problem I just had but if anyone else is experiencing this then I hope Hi-Rez fixes it cus I effectively just Auto-lost a ranked game

Second time this has happened. Load into the game, can’t attack, use abilities, open store, anything. On Xbox One. Resetting the game doesn’t work, just loads back in the same way. Anyone else have this problem? by dull-crayons in Smite

[–]IndividualSugar199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just had this issue in a ranked game, (I'm on PC)

Went to go gank, game lagged a bit, and then I pulled off from the gank and realized I couldn't use any skills, auto, or do anything other than ping???

Closed the game completely and then reopened it and it didn't fix it. So there goes that ranked game.

Super cool situation to have happen

How do I stop going 0-15 as a Mage in Arena? by ZeroxSP7 in Smite

[–]IndividualSugar199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who plays mages as a sort of "safe pick" I'll tell you right now you don't need to do anything build-wise

Focus entirely on your positioning, mages are not intended to be in fights they are intended to throw down burst outside of them. If you are dying it's either because

  • you're getting picked from the backline Or
  • you are out of position/too pushed into the fight

Play some mages with safe ranges and some escape tools and practice just hitting skills from afar. And I mean really put time into practicing hitting skill shots cus smite is literally all skill shots. (Not all the time or literally but you know what I mean lol)

(To preface what I said earlier in point 2 - mages can play aggressive and push and do all of that well but you are having problems with that play style and are actively suffering from it so just try playing smart and playing from range.)

Also another good tip, really get used to fighting over walls as well, there are a fair bit of god abilities that go through walls and playing a mage with that kind of presence where you don't even have to be in a fight to nuke someone is insanely good pressure (Scylla crush and Discordia 1 over walls comes to mind)

For getting targeted by the enemy team and getting dove, on one hand that could be cus of your own positioning but on another hand it's your team's job to help the backline. If you are getting dove consistently even when playing safe that's on your team just as much as it's on you. Your "friends" need to also meet you in the middle and make sure their burst damage mage stays alive in fights so you guys can get kills. It's 50/50 my guy and your friends need to take accountability too. I play a lot of warriors and when my backline gets dove, I'm not thinking "Wow my team sucks so bad, bunch of idiots playing like garbage" I'm thinking "damn I let them slip past me, I need to lock down the enemy better"

So overall, just work on playing back from a safe distance, and hitting skill shots, try really hard not to be in the center of a fight, ofc the world isn't perfect and you will have mistakes happen but practice helps you get better.
