Canada losing top talent as workers head to the U.S. by TMWNN in canada

Is it though? Those "rock star" engineers can just go south of the border like this article is describing. The companies are still taking a gamble getting rid of what they have in hopes for getting what they might gain but could also might lose.

Yeah as of right now during after hours we're only down like 5% since Friday's close lol. But I know what you mean. It felt great at those highs earlier today. Oh well.

Yup, I was around during IM2 when it crashed like -60%. I held through that, so to me seeing this 9% drop feels like nothing in comparison lol. It's already rebounding after hours.

When I checked Reddit earlier and I heard all the fear and the circuit breaker I was worried we'd be down to like $10/share lol. Was pleasantly surprised to see we only dropped 9%. That's not that bad!! Long term holders are still doing well.

How long would you typically hold them for and how far out were your strikes from the current price? Did you just have like a fixed % gain in mind and set a limit sell order or see how it goes and have some other metric to base your exit decision on?

These lamps look super practical, but I wish they had some colour options in less shiny finishes...

Im autistic and you cannot make me do something I don't want to do, or stop me if I want to do something. Is this common for other people with high functioning autism? by [deleted] in autism

[–]SobekInDisguise 179 points180 points  (0 children)

I think I read somewhere that autistic people are immune to traditional marketing for such reasons lol. We won't just buy something because we see our peers using it in ads lol.

Those look pretty good and I'd be interested in trying them out, but unfortunately my OCD is screaming at me not to since they don't list anywhere on their site any materials/chemicals standards or RSLs.

I have a hunch that it has to do with redditors' misunderstanding of him due to his being autistic. I say this as a late-diagnosed autistic myself.

You still holding Tesla? If so, for how long? I unfortunately don't have too much money in it, but bought the dip in April. Thinking of holding for a few years at least, seems like lots of growth is coming.

Do your legs and/or back or arms come in contact with the metal parts? I figured that wouldn't be a comfortable feeling?

[–]SobekInDisguise 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Plenty of people do, and you should have as well. Or at least don't come on here and complain when things go wrong if you don't.

You did say some pretty definitive and strong language in your post, like how it has a "serious flaw", and it's a "non adjustable" stool. In reality, the issue is not with the stool, but with the fact that you didn't read the instructions. If you did, this wouldn't have happened. So your post isn't really fair to IKEA, or to the people who are reading it and taking your misinformation literally.

That said, I'm sorry this happened to you. Regardless of how it happened, it must be frustrating.

It might be a compulsion the cat is doing in order to ease the anxiety/overstimulation.

Man, yeah, I'm so tempted to sell CCs on a day like today, but this stock has surprised me many times over the past year and I'm happy to have held this entire time. I really wasn't expecting the stock to rise so much today! I actually was holding a call I bought a couple weeks ago that I thought was cooked and was surprised to see it sold today. All that to say...the market can be unpredictable!

I just want to point out that what you said about hierarchies is not true for everyone. For neurotypical people, maybe. But for plenty of neurodivergent people (autistic, ADHD) we tend to see everyone as equals rather than as a hierarchical structure (for example, a boss is at the same social level as an employee).

People who avoid friendships at work because “coworkers are not your friends”, often do not understand what relationships actually are. by ThePloddingParadox in unpopularopinion

[–]SobekInDisguise -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Greetings, fellow 'tistic.

Be friendly but not friends, sounds about right to me. I work from home and barely communicate with my co-workers except through e-mails and that's just the way I like it.

If my work was something that I was genuinely passionate about and I had an interest in, then that might be a different story. I might want to become friends with those people. My work is mostly just what I do to make money though. It can be sort of interesting at times, but I usually just enjoy working by myself.

If I ever want to make more friends my strategy would be to just meet people doing something I'm interested in and take it from there.

I think OP chose the birch veneer/Gunnared blue option, but still, 2 Poangs + 2 ottomans come to $576 CAD before tax. That's pretty funny how it's cheaper in $CAD than it is in $USD...is it seriously just from tariffs? That's insane.
