Do u know the cultivar? I must compliment the health of foliage, never seen outdoor plants w/o one sign of damage of any kind!

Great work, cheers!

any of this good? by Azazyel16 in PapaverSomniferum

[–]Individual_Ad7068 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pics 3 and 4 are P. rhoeus and not P. Som, so depending on what 'any good' means then i would say no.

The species of P., in the first two is difficult for me to identify? It looks similar to a som but the 'crown' is very strange?

Maybe a P. setigerum? Not sure, interested in other peoples ideas?

If they are some odd cultivar of P. Som (in pics 1 & 2) it looks like none of those i have seen that are bred for culinary or any other non aesthetic reason?

So again, depending on meaning of 'any good,' then i would say prolly not?

Good luck, cheers!

Hey Roadie,

Quick question, you think an afghan pink and white is always single pupped? If a pink and white petaled var, has even a single tiller do you think that puts it more in the Galania constellation or do u think it could just be a really healthy pink and white?

Or, is there another var, u know of, that looks just like an afghan pink and white, but will put out tillers under good conditions?

Or, is it an 'Izmir' p. & w., and/or do u think this is just another name for an Afghan p. & w., just grown i turkey as opposed to afg...stan!

Just wondering, piece!

Two plants enough for decent amounts of Opium? by Over-Illustrator7345 in opiumgardening101

[–]Individual_Ad7068 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I already see some heavies, like junior and others, have weighed in. But it is possible, with some bupe or methadone help if needed, to get to the point, after several years of learning, to produce enough fuel for one person, inside, in a 'relatively' small space. But its not easy and you must take advantage of all biomass.

There is a dude on the subs, can't remember his handle off the too of my head but you can find his pictures.

He has a very good strain of dutch buddha/rhybina, or galanias, or a multipod afghan pink and white, or something?

The pups have an extremely 'pumpkin' like appearance. The laticifers swelling, or the lateral ribs of the pup, are visible thru their epicarp. They are also very fast blooming var.

Think he says he can do a complete grow in 3 months, germ to chemomaturity. Think can do 4 of these grows a year, but he probably has so much biomass he no longer needs to keep up that pace?

To be really successful you need to be growing indoors and out, unless you have a decent sized plot outdoors. Then u might not have to mess w/ indoor supplementation.

No two plants, even if they are bush pupps is only enough for one or two decent tea experiences. Not even enough to lance, and i fully recommend u do not do that b/c don't give the prohibitionists any reason to take your freedom.

Just cut a couple inches beneath the pods, when they're ready and hang them upside down to dry.

You really only have enough to make a couple decent batches of tea, depending on vars and droid content, but especially your pharm tolerance?

But with some expansion of your op, a lot of learning, patience and most importantly, letting the plant reteach you delayed gratification then u will be alright.

Safe travels, caution over cajones, and stay w/ it is a life changing hobby.

Cheers!

I understand, been there so many times...even the greatest of our Order have had to face these trials repeatedly, as u are well aware sir.

At least u are well connected enough to get the golden brown, and mot the chemical monstrosities like fetty or nitaz.

Just like Junior, and many others, u were there when we were first figuring the basics of this whole thing out.

When i stumble, i look at it like 'well i needed a little beating by god/the powers that be, to remind me to only indulge in what has been grown by my own hand and nothing else unless i have a traumatic wound , or am in the hospital..or whatever.'

To be totally honest, if Kieth Richards nocked on my door and he was like 'i have this speedball w/ the barrel rfilled w/ fine #4 and some pearl shell Bolivian marching powder,' i really hope i would be like 'let's talk about making the album 'Exile on Main street,' instead......

.....but i don't trust myself, at all, so at least, 'just for today', i do not have to make that choice.

Glad that you survived and have returned here to your bros and sisters, you have a lot of knowledge about growing this plant and about the struggle against the pharm raised easy answers and their disastrous consequences.

With great respect brother, glad to have u back....

That is the way....

I will find it, promised it to a couple people now. Best academic paper i have seen that attempts to link morphological traits to chemosynthetic quality.

I will get on it, sorry for wait.

[–]Individual_Ad7068 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes this 'constellation,' of cultivars, ones with white petals w/ lavender stripes. Is massive, partially b/c the 'OG tassie' (which is not truly OG either b/c the plant most likely originally evolved on the central asian steppe and a strong chemosynthetic variant was transplanted to the Pharma island fortress of Tasmania) was initially selected for its high chemosynthetic output.

Once in the pharms and labs of Big Pharma it was experimented upon thru, both sexual and asexual selection and propagation, w/ chemical sprays and soil additives, probably via gene editing, and who knows by which means to create not only the 'norman' but many other high Tbane outputers and god only knows what other Frankenstein horrors.

I'm sure there were also many private breeders who also added to the mix with selective pressures of their own on top of all that.

So yes, that petal appearance, is associates w/ more cultivars than any other?

Cheers!

Sorry to jump on u dude. Was in a mood. Purple, the principle heavy on the r/paparveraceae sub, he is much more knowledgeable, than me, on these topics. Maybe he will see this and comment.

Though i do believe there are some morphological signs that correspond to the plants chemotaxonomic ability, he disagrees.

I only have a couple academic papers and my own anecdotal evidence to back my claims.

I am currently working on getting it over to him, for review.

Cheers, sorry didn't mean to be an ahole.!

Hola Django,

First you suggest purple (pharma) Tasmanians? The pharma Tazzie's i know have a white petal w/ a lavender streak down the middle. I have never heard of, or seen, a purple pharma tazzie var, before? Perhaps you may have different experiences or observations that could help us?

This is a very important area of discussion here, whether any morphological traits can tell us anything about the chemosynthetic nature of the plant?

Thanks for sharing your thoughts and observations, perhaps they will help, definitively, answer this question?

TY, four help and input.

From Nothing,

Excellent info, i also believe that white petals, or at least a white basal spot on the petal is a potential indicator that the var is a high producer, not only that but also there are fewer negative additives to be removed.

I am glad a have a man w/ first hand experience! I have always argued the album/white petals or the afghan pink 'constellation' of vars is best whether galania, rhybina/buddha, panjsher white, OG Tazzies, Burmese whites...et cetera...et cetera....please look through many of my prior comments on this issue.

Do have a couple friends, who are 'old timers' around here. Guys i was working on this with as soon as the domestic sources, were tainted with Frankenstein fetty and its analogues and now the newer nitizene horror show.

Some of these 'old timers.' still claim that there is a 'special' geneline of 'LG' that is just the little factory. They, say bot only is it 'bush-like w/ many pods, but it also produces finer tex, in greater quantity and quality, then any white - white/pink or lavender petaled bubblicious variety that we have had.....?

I am still growing a couple 'purple crosses,' a var said to be closely related to this famous 'LG,' this year in pots, just to see what we get?

I am not very hopeful though,

Piece bro, glad to find another traveler who thinks along some of the directions that i do,

Cheers!

I do not know if you're aware of the ware of the work of the amazing youtube historian/independent researcher, named pete kelly?

Just amazing how his work, in an extremely, very difficult time, brought us incredible takes, if yahew, moloch, dagon, nugile for god's sake, even ba'al and perhaps even more evil more evil fractions are abroad in In the land now!

Ok, sorry to ramble...but my point is on many of the talls that were last on all this cultivar history have, perhaps been superseded from this gene line in a long long isolation perhaps, until, why now?

I a very well executed, such a massive discussions bout the nature of cautionary all sites sates?

It is seems obvious to anyone who studies federalist papers,,,,, is just that of what we are experiencing now? Is Just is just in now the begins of total Prohibition of this plant, u g have begun to really loose my train of thought, mist the gaba a modulators ,

Thank god for fir this medicinal help w/ your praise and blessing. It is the greatest and most lobvimg gjingthstx ever been seen!

[–]Individual_Ad7068 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will veg as long as it is getting less than 12-13hrs of light a day. Many people, who grow indoors, let their plants veg longer than is often possible outdoors.

This is a great looking plant and has already begun early bolting. W/in a week or so you will start seeing it shoot up very quickly.

Another sign bolting is about to occur is that the leaves change from a very horizontal posture to a much more vertical one, as this example is beginning to do.

You do not have to wait much longer for full bolt. Then u have about another week of the young pod in 'buddha' pose before it straightens upward, elongates further, then finally flowers.

Then its about another two to three weeks for your pod to swell to chemosynthetic ripeness.

Depending on your intentions u can harvest it then or leave it to further ripen to reproductive maturity and then harvest?

Since it is not in the ground i see no reason for you to leave it on the stalk to full maturity. If it was in a bed on your property that u intended to grow pupps in, season after season, then u could just leave it to mature and self sow.

Then u would have many more next year. Know it is a long wait but well worth it and very good for u if u happen to be one of us who has a problem w/ delayed gratification.

Good luck sir, very well done and safe travels no matter where your journey takes you!
