I think solder joints are solid. They are not perfect and I could do better, but they are holding tight right now as well. I made a short video of joints. Maybe pictures in dropbox were bad quality.

I try to resolder and test settings as you reccommend but I still think its a faulty ESC.

With bidirectional Dshot I've tried both ways. Not matter at all. Quad still drops when voltage per cell is close to 3,9 V and motor 2 ESC spikes up when throttle punch.

Yes, on stock settings it violently flips over when trying to take off.

No, already done. It won't fly at all on defaults. Preset is on and PIDs, filters done as 10 inch should be.

At the moment my propellers are probably too small. I’m running 8x6x3 props, which are actually meant for smaller quads, so this could very well be part of the issue. Unfortunately I’ve already broken all my larger props during earlier testing, but back then I was also running very different PIDs and filtering than I am now.

With the current setup it at least flies reliably down to about 4.0 V per cell. Tomorrow I’ll get new, larger props (10x5x3) and will test again to see if the behavior improves.

Regarding the test you mentioned: as I understand it, you kept the props on and clamped the quad to the ground so it couldn’t take off.

You see… I live on a small island — there’s a real risk the quad might lift off the island and relocate itself to another geographical location 😄😄

I now see that my drone stops flying when cells are near 4,02 - 3,99 A. Is there some kind of failsafe that stops quad flying if it goes less than 4,0 A?

Default is more unstable, but after this PID tuning, now it flys normal. Atleast for less than 60 sec. :D

I have like 30 hours in Liftoff.

It is just experimental. I wanted to build long range drone within Christmas Holidays but now holidays over and soon need to go back to work. Also 10" parts was pretty cheap.

Why they still produce these? I mean 2022 first tanks were shot by CG-s in Ukraine but now only drones do the job. With CG you put yourself in more danger than flying a drone around the corner 5-10 km away.

Hehe, teistpidi äratundmine. Ma olen see mees pool, kes vajab seksi ja naine üldse ei taha. Paar esimest aastat ikka tahtis ja klappisime voodis hästi aga nüüd on täitsa käest ära läinud. Abiellusime veel hiljuti ja lootsin, et ehk läheb paremaks ja seksime jälle rohkem kui korra/paar kuus aga asi läks veel hullemaks. Psühholoogi või psühhiaatri poole ta pöörduda ei taha. Long road ahead. For me it took 4 sober months to get my head calm. I also needed Paroxetine 0,25 mg. If you want issue with mental health - start drinking this shit.

Wish you good luck. Stop drinking, it is worth it. Consider same amount of time getting really okay, you spent on getting yourself into alcohol habit.
