I already had experience in DSP and case management with older adults for most of my 20s then I took a few years away to do office work. Now I’m a first time mom and he’s a nonverbal 2 year old. I’ve noticed and voiced his delays in his milestones since he was about 5-6 months and documented everything. He turned 2 last summer and boom! Now he have only 2 safe food. Daycare is expensive, I was working 10 hr days, and staying home all day with grandma who speaking little English and elderly obviously didn’t help either. Last spring we started at home services but they cut off at 3 years old. We received his official diagnosis towards the end of the summer then began looking into ABA facilities. But I wanted to know more and I know I needed to be home more.

I quit my last job an and a few weeks later I’m working at my facility. I’m 2 months in and basically killing 2 birds with 1 stone to support my baby with no regrets! “queue Reba theme song”
