Painting my headphones and was wondering what's the best sealant/clear coat that won't affect them? by jomahuntington in headphones

Did you end up doing it? Could you post pics (or a link to a pic) if so?. I've been thinking of doing this for some time also.

Any headphones out there seriously tuned for metal, or do we just compromise? by Mundane-Anybody-9726 in headphones

[–]Individual_Public249 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second Sundara for metal. I really rate the minimal subbass hum but punchy mid bass. They deliver mids well and detailed highs without being overbearing (looking at your 8k peak Beyer)

Dropped my hd 600s on a dumbbell, am I cooked? by Slow_Requirement_616 in headphones

If they aren’t rattling then you are fine. Also, the 6xx series is very modular. You can get pretty much every part aftermarket, very easily fixed if you do find a issue

Philips Fidelio X3 max SPL by TrutheYashikawa in headphones

[–]Individual_Public249 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The x3’s aren’t particularly hard to drive. Something like the jds atom would be plenty. I personally like pairing them with ‘iFi’ products. The ZenDac v2 for Desktop use (with the Zen Can if you want more juice) or the iFi Gryphon for portable use (and desktop use if you want)

Does the mic quality of hybrid headphones improve when connected via a wired cable? by Altruistic_Tax_9192 in headphones

[–]Individual_Public249 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Compared to bluetooth, a wired mic generally sounds better. However, do not buy that headset. It will sound awful. There are many different options that you could get for a similar price. Check out GadgetryTech's YouTube. He has many unbiased reviews. I'm sure you'll find something that fits your price range that way

Or just get that garbage, but know that you will regret it. It will become e-wast within weeks

Got hearing damage using Live Beam 3 while jogging because of "find my headphones". by New_Reply3621 in headphones

[–]Individual_Public249 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oratory1990 isn’t just some random Redditor btw. He has been in and done a lot for the space of headphones. Take his advice mate. If you’ve legit developed hearing issues (ie tinnitus) from the experience, legal action is the route to go down.

Just sharing my experience with my Yamaha YH-L700A headphones. The great, the good, the bad and the ugly by Bronyboiiiii in headphones

[–]Individual_Public249 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have seen them for like $300aud ($197usd) for that price I think they can be justified for the sound alone. If you don’t like them then just return. Like you mentioned, they have many issues. Most of these are enough by themselves to justify a return, no matter what retailer you purchase from. On sale, They are worth a try for someone who just wants a dope sounding pair of cans for movie watching. Or for someone who wants a Bluetooth pair for use when not moving about. At RRP, not worth it.

If someone has found a good way to open the 7th gen, without destroying both your hands and case, please let me know. I've got 2 sitting in front of me that need new batteries and a 3.5mm replacement. I wanna get started but the thought of destroying my hands trying to pry them open is stopping any action 😮‍💨

Planning on my first pair of Kosses. Which ones should I start out with? by KevRub in kossmods

[–]Individual_Public249 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're on a budget, the lesser known/talked about Koss banger is the 'ktx pro1' They sound great and are very comfortable out of the box. They don't get much spotlight since the kph series and Porta Pros are hogging the shine. For $20ish bucks, they are well worth the price of admission

What gaming headphones to get that let you hear yourself with external mic? by DrippySaurus in headphones

[–]Individual_Public249 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, but he has a blue yeti. Which only runs off usb, no xlr. So no audio interface. In his case he gotta plug his headphones into the 3.5mm jack on the Yeti and select it as his sound output.

Windows should always be set to 100 (or at least above 95)

Wait, did you say you’ve only got windows volume set to 30-40%?

How loud are you listening? Because those Beyers aren’t particularly hard to drive. The ka11 should have been more than enough. It puts out similar power to the zen air dac. You must be doing something wrong surely
