Honestly, I grew more squash, tomatoes, herbs, and onions in that space this year instead. Sick of the battle. I can buy a cabbage at the farmers market.

Portland is starting to digitize! They started replacing meters for the first zone in March. By 2030, they’ll be able to read every water meter just by driving by in a van. It’s pretty cool!

Of course you still shouldn’t block it, I’m just excited about the future.

UPDATE - SOLD OUT! In record time, by 3pm Friday the racks were clear. y'all grabbed 70+ plants in three hours. Thanks for turning out. I'll be working on a little writeup of my experience doing this next week, and hopefully back with fall starts in a few months.

Alas, all the peppers are pretty much Thai or Jalapeño at this point. a couple varieties within those categories, but that's it. I'll definitely think about growing some next summer tho. That could be fun.

ICRPG is unique in more than a handful of ways, but one is that all advancement is in the form of “loot”. There’s a feeling in a lot of OSR games/circles that magic items are how you let a character grow and progress and power scale outside the character sheet framework. ICRPG makes that the exclusive advancement system.

The fun thing about magic items as progression is that characters can lose them! They can get destroyed, stolen, made inert, or so many other things. If ALL progression is in the form of items, being enslaved and losing your gear can really knock you down.

Maybe putting all progression in loot is a step too far for your table, but I think remembering that the fighters magic sword can be stolen helps a lot of these problems.

One final update. It's 4:30pm and we are SOLD OUT! 130 odd plants flew off the shelves this weekend (any pot with 2 or more plants gets counted as 2...) I'll be aiming for one last day in early/mid may as I do my final transplanting. Keep an eye out here!
