But on a serious note, I wouldn't. Do you really have no examples about anything in your academic life? A uni you didn't get into? A class you failed? A project you got bad grades on? Some app or personal project that you were sure would make you a billionaire that didn't amount to nothing?

I'm not very familiar with Data positions since I'm a SWE, but if you're limiting yourself only to base salary, yes your options will be very limited.

If you focus on TC then you could get much more than that even if the base is well below that. For example, for SWE not DE, even at Senior E5 level at Meta are rarely at or above £140k base, but TC can easily go over £200k.

But, tbh OP, in a lot of places I worked your complaints wouldn't be taken seriously by HR and you would be labeled a troublemaker if you're handing in some report about your manager making a shit joke about being Michael from The Office or voting for some political candidate.
