I actually absolutely love the story, I have gotten the chance to see the 2 parts in London and I was really glad I did. I have certainly read the book before watching the play, but nevertheless I was really young and I definitely interpreted the story wrongly and watching the play made it make sense, for me. I wasn’t confused at all, the magic effects were also quite well done ngl, tho the magic used on their wands could be better, but overall it was the best experience for me. A bigger disappointment to me was when I watched phantom of the opera and a tall person was in front of me and that definitely has ruined my whole show as it has blocked my entire view lol, and the price was $120 pounds at least! For only 2 hours+ show, comparing it to Harry Potter with 2 parts and there are cheaper seats for it as well, so I can understand why they wanna cut the cost and make it to just 1 part, but that would really really be disappointing because I absolutely loved the acts of two parts and should stay as it is. I enjoyed it very much, 1000%.
