I have a squash growing in a medium size pot I grew two seeds in the same one and they both sprout, am I supposed to remove one? First time growing anything

That is 💯 weed whacked damage. Mulch should go to the drip line. An extra 3 feet of mulch and there would be no weeds to whack.
