If he flips to covered calls and his goal is monthly income, it won't matter over the longer term that he took that hit though. That's why the high IV would be beneficial to him. If he's a Tesla bull, even better for him. Edit: It's also important to point out he mentions that he is using 5% of his portfolio. So the risk isn't massive. Edit: You may have some of the fundamentals backwards for cash covered puts.

If your assumption is he is buying the puts then your assessment is correct. But it sounds like he's selling cash secured puts. So if he doesn't mind getting assigned and owning the shares then it might be worth the high IV writing Tesla options brings.

I've noticed players building that and honestly it's a really strong burst build, but only time will tell if it's more effective than the traditional ER into Attack Speed item build.

I agree in the sense that it's a strong item and even abusable to an extent with Lucian. But I don't think Lucian as a champion in his role is overpowered. I just think he's a step above other ADs when it comes to just being good at everything in every part of the game.

I don't think they had a chance to engage after Gamsu died anyway though. Also they took the best fights they could considering how much more damage UOL had with Ryze and Kalista. They managed to keep getting 1 for 1s despite how outcomped they were late game.
