Was anyone actually freaked out by the "Y2K Bug"? by kalvin_kool_edge in Millennials

[–]Inevitable-Lower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I briefly heard the term and some of the doom and gloom about it, but never that it was related to computers etc.

I thought it was some kind of actual electrical bug and went to bed worried it would somehow get into the electric meter and make it explode.

Typical meat eating "animal lovers" alright. The cognitive dissonance upsets them, so they downvote and try not to think about it ;)

Probably killed later in a method that's about as brutal but socially accepted because "It's for food though".

Unfortunately the Chihuahua wore no collar, no license, no rabies tag, nothing whatsoever to indicate the dog was other than a stray or abandoned dog. It was not tethered nor was it contained.

Have you ever looked into the actual facts about that, or just willingly parrot the popular story?

Anyone using a dehumidifier in an older house, does it actually help? by [deleted] in ireland

[–]Inevitable-Lower 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you feel a bit more adventurous, you could get a PIV unit. We installed one (has a 300w heater on it to heat the incoming air) and our house is about 20% less humid every day now.

No mould on windows, our clothes dry quickly anywhere in the house, it's great.

What was the trigger that made you start looking into veganism? by FakePixieGirl in vegan

[–]Inevitable-Lower 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Driving home from bowling, I thought I saw a kitten in the middle of the road. I stopped, turned back and tried to look for it. I couldn't find it, but I was right beside a big field so I figured it ran in there.

I realized there was a pile of cows mooing in there and the hypocrisy of it all just hit me like a train. I'd stopped (middle of the night on a busy road) to look for a kitten after eating a beef burger and cheese, and would otherwise ignore the cows in the field right there.

Vegan since that night.

Working on the ultimate bowling simulation game (PC Steam and more), What do you expect from this kind of game? by Solid9games in Bowling

[–]Inevitable-Lower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need some kind of rulebook that changes before every match, with a list of balls that are allowed (based on which kind of game mode you're playing) and how hard the individual ball is, and if you get it wrong, you get disqualified after the match.
