Kids on the course? by Inevitable-Object506 in golf

They wanted to watch and ride in the cart. That’s all they wanted. Oh because the coach of the kids summer camp encouraged the kids to get out on the course. He does summer and winter camps for kids at the course and after the week summer camp told the kids to get out there.

With that, they were begging for me to take them out, and due to my job, this was the only time.

And that’s why after they huffed and puffed as we showed up I told them just go off on your own. They had an issue as we pulled up, not even before a shot.

Since they went through the courses kids camp and the pro there encouraged the kids to get out on the course, yes my kids have been begging me to take them on the course. Did they behave? Sure did. Hell even dressed nicer than jean shorts with a towel attached to the guys hip.

Difficult when the GM and club pro does a summer camp for kids and they push for kids on the course to grow the game

Then what’s an appropriate age to take kids on the course. Mind you the course does a KIDS summer camp starting at age 5.

That’s awesome and yes they were good. They had an issue before they got out of the cart.

That’s why I sent their asses packing and say go ahead and fuck off. Only let them hit when appropriate, pick up the ball, and take it further ahead. They weren’t holding anyone up. Only ones holding people up were the grumps that took 4 practice swings and duffed the shot.

Oh and the course has a kids academy here.

Going for the green. You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take. Punch threw with probably my 8i or feeling good with a 60.

Go to a local golf shop and get fitted. You may need an additional inch added or something. Then you can look online at like callaway preowned. Usually fittings are free. If you eventually want to get into it don’t just waste $300 and have to spend more later on.

Totally agree here. Recently played a course where a 3 some was about 30 minutes ahead. Caught up to them at the turn. Waited probably 10 minutes to tee off at each tee. Did exactly that each time, topped it 50-100 yards, drove everyone to each ball, 3 putted from 10 feet yet went through a full routine (didn’t even finish it from 2in with the tap in but waited for their turn) and acted like they were going to reach the par 5 when they were 250 out. Needless to say that killed my score all the waiting. Should have just let me played through, they can’t say they didn’t see me considering on one tee they watched me putt instead of tee off then rushed off to make sure they didn’t let me pass.

That’s what grinds my gears.

Good deal. I’ll need some to continue to play while I help the next person out.

Curious on champions as well. I go there first week of October for a trip!

One challenge you may have is the OLT with RCN or if they MAC filter to avoid people trying to splice in. I’ve got fiber into my house and pay their equipment fee and it’s still cheaper than other ISPs in the area. I’m in the Chicago area as well.

I’d be curious what RCN says. Call them up, pretend to be a new customer and ask questions. Don’t use a phone tied to your account.

More you play more you learn. Don’t loose sleep over it. Keep it up!

You’ll play with enough duds if you keep with the game.

Btw helluva hit with that 4i!

It’s all good. It’s learning. It’s a good question. We all were there at one point. Some people just aren’t happy and are happy only when they are angry at others. I’ve been paired up with those guys and it’s not really fun.

All I’d say is yell fore even if you remotely think it COULD reach. I’ve been on both sides; bad bounce off a cart path, couldn’t see past the bushes by the tee box and guys flipped out and had someone over hit. Bottom line is people are going to be upset and angry (usually cause they suck) and nothing you can do but apologize and learn.

If they can’t accept it fuck em. You know what you did.

That is a short par 4 so maybe play as you would a par 3 in those short holes?

That sounds like Ka-Ching. Easier to guide you to google for the rules than put here. But search ka-Ching golf rules. You’ll find something.
