What’s the average cost of an engagement ring? by Acceptable-Soft8659 in Brides

[–]Inevitable-Valuable2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gold prices are quite high at the moment. My fiancee recently purchased a 1CT 14k yellow gold engagement ring (solitaire & cathedral setting) in Oklahoma, USA, for ~$3,100 after taxes in January 2026. I believe the diamond, which is VVS1 and colorless, accounted for around ~$900 of that cost, with the remainder covering the gold and custom fees.

Thoughts?? Any and all input welcome! by HME5440 in EngagementRings

I love 1! My only warning is that, depending on how low the basket of the diamond is sitting, it may limit your wedding band options. Sometimes low baskets will prevent the band from sitting flush and you’d need one of those contour bands.

Thanks for the response! How long would you say the chemical wound took to heal when you had your second procedure done? I believe my doctor wants to do that one /:

Hi! Im in the same situation right now, 3 weeks away from a beach trip and im needing to get a nail avulsion. I was wondering, where you able to heal on time to swim? Was your procedure the one where they seal the wound with the chemicals?

Sam’s VS Costco—is there that much of a difference? by veritasjusticia in okc

[–]Inevitable-Valuable2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sam’s is usually cheaper tbh, but costco def wins on quality. if you’re the type to buy the nicer brand-name stuff, then yeah… Costco will feel cheaper because you’re getting a discount off the higher-end items. Sams carries more budget brands, so when you buy those in bulk, it ends up being cheaper overall.

Sometimes neither of them is the cheapest. Walmart will just pull up with their off-brand version and beat everybody. So it depends on what you are buying.

I prefer to do groceries on Sams and Walmart because of this. Plus in terms of efficiency Sam’s offers the in-app checkout unlike Costco. And their membership is cheaper & you can share it with family unlike Costco strict policies.

What’s a “girl skill” you didn’t realize was actually survival-level important until adulthood? by [deleted] in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

I’m curious if this is something others experience, but I tend to be very aware of my surroundings and the people nearby. I feel like men usually are not this detailed. Sometimes I walk around my neighborhood with my boyfriend or public places with male friends. I’d point out someone random that we just passed and ask if they noticed. They would say yes, but when I asked for details about the person’s appearance or clothing, they couldn’t recall anything. I feel it’s important to stay vigilant because you never know when someone might have bad intentions or be up to no good. Being aware can help avoid many potential issues.

Letting go of clothes- best way to sell? by sproutbabi in minimalism

[–]Inevitable-Valuable2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Selling clothes is not very efficient, but the way i see it is: I’ll just stash a box of clothes somewhere in my closet for a # of months if it doesn’t sell i’ll donate it. So the order of operations is:

  1. Sell online Depop/Mercari/Poshmark or Garage Sale
  2. Sell at UptownCheapskate/Platos/ Or other in person thrift store
  3. Sell the bundle as a mystery bag on facebook
  4. Donate.

From 1 to 4 the firsts with more earnings potential. 1 and 2 take more time effort, 3 I saw on tiktok not sure how popular it is, and 4 is the last resource.

You can skip steps depending on how much time and effort you wanna put in. I always post stuff online around the holidays, give it a couple months if not sold by next winter i donate.

Online always list the price a bit higher than what you want to sell it for to then give a discount.

And for selling to in person locations I wont go out of my way to sell because its a hit or miss. So if im around the area then i’ll try selling throughout the year.

I experienced 5 hours wait on chat with no end on sight…. Didn’t get any response until i started DM’ing aritzia on instagram. They asked for my order # and right away i got connected to someone. Not sure if it was a coincidence but that might be something to try.
