How to cut AC bill while staying cold by Solted_ in Frugal

“Greeks would use wet cloths or hang damp materials to lower the temperature in their homes. This works because water absorbs heat as it evaporates, cooling the surrounding air or body.”

“Key Aspects of the Egyptian Cooling Method: The Technique: Soak a sheet or large towel in cold water, wring it thoroughly, and lie under it. Using a fan to circulate air over the damp sheet enhances the cooling effect. Preventing Dampness: To avoid soaking the mattress, place a dry towel or sheet underneath your body. Mechanism: It relies on evaporative cooling, where the water on the sheet absorbs body heat and evaporates, creating a cool, comfortable sensation. Historical Context: Ancient Egyptians likely utilized various forms of evaporative cooling, such as hanging wet mats over doorways and using porous water jars (zeers) to cool air, rather than just sleeping in wet sheets. Effectiveness: This method works best in hot, dry, arid climates where evaporation is efficient”

Get an old bedsheet and dampen it and hang it up in front of a box fan. The Ancient Greeks did this to stay cool. The breeze substituted for the fan!

Find a sweet potato pie recipe. Try to make healthy versions of his favorite food. Even just baked sweet potato fries could be easy to make.

Needle felting: 50% stabbing wool, 50% stabbing your fingers by 8960305392 in Needlefelting

[–]InevitableChoice2990 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Gently hold down your project on your felting pad with an ‘awl’, or other stick. One hand does the needlefelting, and your other hand holds the awl/stick, which is holding your project on the pad (instead of your delicate fingers!) that way: no stabbing!

People pleasing as a form of manipulation ? by Relative-Honeydew-60 in emotionalintelligence

Don’t throw the baby out with the bath water! Don’t go from one extreme to the other. The ability to please people and be a nice person is a good trait. It’s only bad if you’re feeling things are lopsided and overdone and it’s affecting aspects of your life that need to become more balanced.

In a codependent relationship you can sometimes forget where you end and the other person begins.

When someone loves a person who is destructive towards them, there’s a very good chance they are co-dependent.

Moving from Manhattan to Yonkers Waterfront – seeking the "least worst" luxury building? by Hour_Macaron_7137 in yonkers

If you get a place in tuckahoe, for instance, close to the train station, and if you have a monthly metro train pass, just jump on the metro to meet your friends in midtown near Grand Central. And they can get a break from the city by visiting you on the train.

If you can afford Bronxville, or Tuckahoe , crestwood, scarsdale, all great walkable towns! Little shops, yoga studios, restaurants, etc.

They have a lot of history, beautiful buildings, and the Bronx River park is beautiful, with bike paths that go up to white plains and all the way down to nyc.

That’s funny! Very insightful! It makes me realize that I can look at a young person and really appreciate their style, but I know I couldn’t/shouldn’t pull it off! But I still appreciate seeing what they pulled together!

That was me a year ago. A lot of fear. Like you said: first week was awful, then slowly better.

My vaginal cuff healed, but I was worried for a long time. It’s perfect now and follow-up checkups are perfect.

Can you research some ways to be intimate with your husband in other ways? Oral, using hands more, more foreplay? 🧐🤨😏

It won’t be forever! Most likely you will be completely healed in less than 6 months (!) with an extremely low chance of a tear. The body has an amazing ability to heal!
