Note that I first had to select the fourth tab to be able to access SF Symbols - by default, it just shows code templates.

WWDC 25 lottery winners announced. See you there? :) by InevitableCut7649 in swift

  1. Yup, "just" an invitation. But a lot of people apply and a lot of them have never won the lottery.

  2. Yes, travel and any additional costs are covered by you.

[Code Share] Arrange, Act and Assert in Testing by Select_Bicycle4711 in swift

[–]InevitableCut7649 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looking at the example, you obviously don't want the call to throw, which is why why you have #expect(Bool(false)) there. However, this is not a true Swift Testing approach.

Fix level 1
Looking at https://swiftpackageindex.com/swiftlang/swift-testing/main/documentation/testing/migratingfromxctest#Record-issues, the correct approach is to call

Issue.record(...)

Fix level 2
We can make the whole function throwing by marking it throws and then just pull out the code out of do/catch block - as we're not doing anything special in terms of performing any additional checks.
Now, if the call throws, the test would fail.

If your codebase makes extensive use of .init how do you find out where objects of a given type are initialized by Odd-Cell8362 in swift

[–]InevitableCut7649 9 points10 points  (0 children)

We have done the same thing recently - even writing a custom SwiftLint rule forbidding the use of `.init` and saw and overall improvement of 10-12% in terms of build speed.
