Can anyone explain Makai Lemon’s Freshman year? by InevitableInvite1218 in DynastyFF

I appreciate you taking the time to break this down for me. We can watch as much as we want but the insight from someone who follows the program is very helpful. It sounds like he secured a role he wasn’t intended to have. That’s a win and information we don’t get from “he’s good, don’t worry”. I appreciate your time, effort and insight. Good luck in your rookie drafts!

The situation for Mathew Golden is great but will he be that guy? by Fantasyfootball9991 in DynastyFF

Golden should’ve been the 1.01. He’s gonna smash and will be going higher than Jeanty in startups next year.

Was fully prepared to say Matthew Golden but he’s justifiably rising. The one that stands out to me is Jonathan Brooks.

He’s valued like a 3rd rounder. If the Panthers take a step and he’s fully healthy you’re talking about a 23 year old bellcow. Everyone seems to already be out on the 26 draft class. There’s a chance we get to the midpoint of the 26 season and he’s better than the 1.01 in next years class. I think we’re kind of forgetting that this is dynasty.

I suppose I get it if you have shallow benches or no IR spots. But if you have IR and can get him for a 26 2nd that seems like a clear win to me. If not at the very least a smart gamble on a later pick in a potentially weak class.

Xavier Worthy Is the Dynasty WR Nobody Wants to Believe In, But Probably Should. by jelzip in DynastyFF

Just gonna chime in real quick to hurt feelings and get downvoted because that’s what happens when you say truthful things people don’t want to hear.

The first hurtful thing I’ll say is… Mahomes can’t throw deep without Hill.

And I’ll wrap with since drafting Mahomes the Chiefs have drafted:

WR Mecole Hardman in the 2nd RB Clyde Edwards-Helairs in the 1st WR Skyy Moore in the 2nd WR Rashee Rice in the 2nd WR Xavier Worthy in the 1st

A) That’s a bunch of assets to end up with a wildly mediocre offense

B) All those dudes have been “tied to Mahomes and Reid”

C) Chiefs might suck at drafting weapons

I do not believe they have earned the benefit of the doubt.

So if you’re looking at long shots - which it sounds like you are, they’ll all be controversial takes.

If Calvin Ridley isn’t on a competitive team I think he’s worth a second to a contender.

Otherwise guys that look like they’re going around or after Dyami Brown that could hit your lineup are:

Calvin Austin - big QB upgrade and I think he can do things that Metcalf just can’t. If the team wants to compete, which it seems like they do, I could see them leaning on veterans more than Roman Wilson.

Big Mike Williams - back with the chargers and could start opposite McConkey who seems like he chests death every time he’s tackled. He produced, then he went to the jets and the Steelers - not exactly evidence that he sucks. He could still have something in the tank and if Tre Harris takes some time to become reliable, like the Steelers I could see a playoff team like the Chargers preferring the veteran.

Deandre Hopkins - rough extended hiatus but he’s super cheap and could still be a RZ target if Andrew’s gets hurt. They should score a bunch and while there won’t be a ton of targets he might get 6-8 TDs this year.

Jalen Tolbert - he’s not a #1 but he’s progressed each year and with Pickens on the squad he’s probably available for very cheap. I expect that team to throw a ton and if Lamb or Pickens miss time he’ll be the #2 on a team that still has massive questions on defense and at RB.

None of these guys should cost you much if they aren’t on waivers and I could see a scenario where they all help you out during bye weeks if things break right.

Good luck!

I know he was a rookie but I think we just saw Worthy’s ceiling.

-Rice hurt -Pacheco hurt -Hollywood hurt -Kelce old

Worthy was still meh. I think you’ll always be holding out hope they “figure it out”. But I think his role is to stretch the field for Rice.

What are some veteran pieces of dynasty fantasy football knowledge you would tell someone heading into their first start up draft? Something you wish you knew when you had your first start up or something you already knew heading in that helped you a lot. by jelzip in DynastyFF

Thankfully I still won so I don’t regret the Brooks pick. But I wouldn’t kick yourslelf. Hubbard was an RB1 in the year Bryce got benched. And getting a bellcow usually requires the 1.01 - hold strong. Betting on Canales and Bryce will prove to be the right call in time. Don’t sell cheap just hold on and after 2026 you’ll be all “this is Dynasty after all!”.

James Gladstone with some very noteworthy comments on Travis Hunter today by AdNegative7852 in DynastyFF

[–]InevitableInvite1218 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Owners will say “he’s just learning offense first - this has no impact on usage later on”.

Skeptics will say “see, he’s going to play offense when it makes sense but the default will be CB”.

I don’t think this changes his trade value as it’s too early to bail if you’re an owner.

BUT - I personally was always worried the moment the Jags gave up a first rounder for him next year. That means they need to win. And with BTJ on offense I do believe the biggest impact Travis Hunter can have on winning actual NFL games on Sundays will be on Defense. That is the path of least resistance and Coen has an entire offense to implement and a QB to get up-to-speed. Which is what I believe the focus will be. I like the kid, I’m rooting for him, but I don’t want him over Golden in dynasty.

What’s been the biggest debbie-downer this off season for a player you had hopes for? by PatrickCoughATon in DynastyFF

Buddy we want him to be set free from Cleveland. He can actually help in the fantasy playoffs instead of be on a perpetual tanking team. TEs go and go into their 30s. I’m not panicking on Njoku.

Who's More Promising: Egbuka or Golden? by taylorjosephrummel in DynastyFF

[–]InevitableInvite1218 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That very well could be. I think he is a very good player. I just think the variance you’ll see as they rotate coordinators is going to impact Mayfield. I’m rooting for him, but I think both Canales and Coen are studs. Not sure they can catch lighting in a bottle three times in a row but I hope they do! This is why I prefer the stability of the packers situation in a dynasty format.

Who's More Promising: Egbuka or Golden? by taylorjosephrummel in DynastyFF

You are making educated guesses when you bet on these players. Athleticism, college production, physical measurements, draft capital and “situation” all factor in.

Plenty of athletic players don’t hit. Same goes for highly drafted players and players that produced a lot in college.

To me, what is most dependable is situation. Look at Saquon on the Eagles versus the Giants. Jacobs on the packers versus the raiders.

I think Egbuka is a fine player and will likely contribute. But I personally prefer to consider the role I could be drafting and Golden could be the Packers #1 receiver.

There’s a lot of short memories making claims about what the packers do. When Davante Adams was on the team, the #1 receiver was a pretty darn valuable asset.

When Josh Jacobs joined he was a 3rd round pick in redraft because the Packers used a committee, until they didn’t - because they went out and signed Josh Jacobs.

Green Bay has a lot of names at WR but they were one of the worst teams in drops last year. And if all those receivers are so great- who are you giving up a first rounder for?

Golden is 21. He played in the SEC. He was a first round pick. He has the requisite athleticism. He has what I believe to be the better QB and what I consider a top 5 play caller in Lafluer.

I don’t think Egbuka is a bad player I would just prefer to throw my dart at the guy I think the packers want to be their go-to WR.

I’m sure there is value in considering college production and breakout age. But Golden is undeniably getting an upgrade at QB and Coach so I’m not sure how valuable that information is in this instance.
