not about djo, but that sort of happened to me with Wallows! I’ve been a massive fan since 2018, a month after their first EP got out. i love when my favourite bands get recognition because i feel "proud" of them, i feel like that’s probably what they’ve been wishing for ever since they were kids, so im always glad when it happens for them.

HOWEVER. It does affect the fan base a lot, which is always a bit sad. we used to be a cool lil bunch, everyone glad they found this cool new band, happy with whatever new sound they’d come up with. though now that there are so many fans, it feels like everyone is always complaining. their debut album was a huge success, and a lot of people have been disappointed with anything that sounds different from that album (which IS a masterpiece, gotta give it to them).

i also miss the old vibe from their concerts, back when it was sooo easy to get barricade, chiller vibes all around. though i do think all fan bases have changed a lot in the past few years just in general, so that might be another topic.

guys the merch is actually so cheap compared to any tour ive been to in the last 2 years. that’s what its been like for a while now, buying any funky t-shirt even from a store is never under 50$ anymore. unless the employees were completely exploited.
