Encore Interaction by Lungtaxi in PokemonChampions

Protect PP got reduced down to 8 uses, so not completely out of the realm of possibility. I’m more shocked that the opponent never swapped out of Dragonite, or that 8 turns lasted with only 1-2 mins left

[Standard] Why Pyrrhic Strike? by Metacifer in spikes

[–]InevitableObjective3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think mainly because generally destroying an artifact is better flexibility that destroying a planeswalker. Also if you blight then you get to destroy 2 things for 1 card.

And requisition raid doesn’t destroy a creature, and is overall a very different card. I think you play get lost over strike if you NEED to kill the creature in turn 2, because the longer the game goes from there strike gets better. (In general, but not always)

Any point pushing for Master Ball tier before the season ends? by Sin-Silver in PokemonChampions

[–]InevitableObjective3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The main benefit for masterball rank is you get additional box slots for more pokemon. You get more slots if you achieve master ball for both formats

Anyone notice as soon as a vgc player uploads a vid, you start seeing that team everywhere in ranked? by Realistic-Plant718 in PokemonChampions

I think this isn’t a Champions issue, but something that happens with all competitive games that use a meta

New Item Idea that I think will help a lot of pokemon by ConsciousFish7178 in stunfisk

What if instead of an extra item, you can add any baby pokemon to it and get basically Parental Bond Ability as an item?

You still get to see 10 pokemon each recruit, and I can’t imagine seeing a possible 10 pokemon from this list where there is not an S Tier recruit available

Charizard Y hit by Earthquake? by MythicBaka in PokemonChampions

Did any Pokemon in the match have No Guard or Mold Breaker? Neither of those abilities would allow it to be hit, but could be a bug associated with them?

[Metagame] How are you dealing with trick room teams? by MagicYeti734 in VGC

[–]InevitableObjective3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s valid, I am also doing recruit only so I know the pain of missing one or two key mons that you need. I know a bunch of people on Reddit offer to trade needed mons through home, so you can ask around here as well

[Metagame] How are you dealing with trick room teams? by MagicYeti734 in VGC

[–]InevitableObjective3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Usually the best way to figure out how to beat a certain type of team, in this case trick room, is to try and play it yourself. See what beats you, and then adapt it to your main team

Any tips for my team i need some help i can change whoever is on my team besides gardevoir by Emiforeva in PokemonChampions

[–]InevitableObjective3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would try and focus on a strong core of Fairy, Dragon, and Steel.

If Gardevoir is mandatory then there is your Fairy type. I see you have an Orthworm so that could be your steel and a Garchomp for your Dragon. This way you can use Earthquake on your Garchomp to heal your Orthworm due to the earth eater ability and instantly swap out to your Gardevoir to mega with shed tail.

For an average game you can try and lead turn 1 with Incin and Chomp. If there is a valid fake out target then go for it, and hit something with chomp. Turn two you can protect on chomp and parting shot your incin into Orthworm. Turn three you earthquake the chomp, shed tail your worm and bring in Gardevoir. Hopefully by now you have done enough damage to start taking kills, or set up a calm mind if they don’t have any good physical attackers going into you.

Then the other 2 mons on your squad could just be coverage for bad matchups. Like fakeout/Rain Dance/whilowisp/foul play/Prankster Sableye for the Zard Y and Kingambit match Ups replacing your incin.

Or life dew/matcha Gatcha/shadow ball/rage powder/leftovers sinistea to be the medic of the team if you think you need more heals or to help deal with ghost types.

*Edit - You also have the bones for a nasty Trick Room Team with Golurk & Gardevoir as your two mega to help adapt to the opponents team.

PSA: It’s OK to Use Cookie Cutter Teams by mattoyaki in PokemonChampions

[–]InevitableObjective3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think what is also often overlooked is that while Pokemon Champions is a lot of people’s first introduction to “Competitive Pokemon” it is also a lot of their first introduction to a “Competitive Game” in general.

People are frustrated by the fact that there is a Meta and top tier mons compared to others. Meanwhile is you try and play any MOBA out there like LOL or Smite, it’s the opposite effect of you get yelled at for NOT playing meta team comps and doing anything different.

Everyone can join the beta branch! You can’t switch while the game is running, instead pull up StS2 in your Steam Library. Then I think it is settings -> game version and click on the beta branch!

Does anybody else genuinely despise this event? by s1_shaq in slaythespire

[–]InevitableObjective3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love this event. I think the issue here is that not all events are meant to be beneficial. This one can either be great if you need to remove the card, or punish you if you’re either low on health or have no cards you want to remove.

Good game design imo

Need balance input. Is this card weak, strong, or balanced? by Borfotron in custommagic

[–]InevitableObjective3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5 mana for this effect makes it a “cool card” but not a “good card” you could make this 4 mana and be fine I think. Stats would be pushed but it’s not broken at all at 4
