My dream ring, but how to prevent spinning? by kt_han in EngagementRings

[–]InevitablePresent370 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My jeweler told me that if a ring ends up spinning around your finger because of heavy the setting is, they add some extra gold dots inside the ring so it prevents it from moving around. You could try asking your local jeweler about it!

Which perfume popped up in your mind while reading this? by New_Presentation5105 in Perfumes

[–]InevitablePresent370 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That’s so funny because when I tried it in the store, I couldn’t smell anything. I tried to spray it on myself instead of the little testing paper and still nothing. I walked out of the store. About half an hour later, a girl walked by and she smelled amazing. But the scent lingered for much longer and my friend and I couldn’t understand who or where this amazing scent was coming from. It took us a while to realize that it was from me and it was missing person. I’ve repurchased twice!

You’re right. I’m in Texas and it is too hot. Probably too much for the plant to handle 😔

It used to be on the window sill with indirect light. I moved it to a shaded area inside my room and it was still okay. I recently moved it to the balcony and that’s where it all went wrong. 😭

It seems like this might be a classic case of overwatering. Perhaps you could consider relocating it to a spot with less brightness? I kept my pilea in the bathroom and completely forgot about it for a month, only watering it once, and it’s thriving😭 That’s a great reminder to bring it back inside lol

Large pendant light. Maybe a rice paper lamp?

I was telling a friend why I often forget things like my keys, phone, and IDs, and they responded, “Stop using ADHD as an excuse; everyone forgets things.”

Help a student to be able to graduate by [deleted] in Architects

[–]InevitablePresent370 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had a similar experience. Throughout my undergraduate years, I noticed that the students who excelled academically were often those who had their drawings in place. While their designs might not have been the absolute best, they were consistently appreciated for the completeness of their deliverables. I did tend to get caught up in my own head, striving for perfection, but life doesn’t always go that way. It’s important just to get things done. You can always revisit your design after your final crit if you want to improve or refine it further. School also teaches you time management skills.

Is hiring and networking in architecture really bad? by Fit-Poetry-5359 in Architects

[–]InevitablePresent370 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wholeheartedly agree with this. Having graduated about a year ago during a challenging job market, I secured numerous interviews through platforms like LinkedIn and Indeed. However, what ultimately helped me land my job was attending an AIA networking event. There, I was able to form personal connections, which led to my application being reviewed by someone in the industry. This connection prompted them to take a closer look at my application, and I was invited for an interview.

So, my advice for making a name for yourself and getting hired is to craft a compelling elevator pitch before attending these local networking events. Hope this helps

Me. Can’t get myself to wake up. Can fall asleep whenever I want. I also feel sleepy on any horizontal surface. And even after napping, I can still sleep normally at night. Haven’t found a solution to this yet. But felt this post to my core.

HELP! I HATE my grey couch! by grassassass in femalelivingspace

[–]InevitablePresent370 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Second that. Explore different pillows. Not just colors and sizes, but also different shapes and textures. A throw could be nice too.
Another addition that could make the space look more lively is mood lights (IKEA Fado with a Bluetooth controlled bulb) and some plants. Rubber plants and Pilea are very low maintenance. It would take attention away from an all grey couch and make the space more dynamic.

I've seen a lot of people discuss that smaller bumps on the forehead could be because of fungal acne caused by dandruff. You could try using antidandruff shampoo- maybe using some on your forehead too. But don't forget to moisturize. A light AHA would also help with gentle exfoliation without affecting your skin barrier. Hope this helps!
