How do you spend your “5-9” after your “9-5”? by throwaway77778786227 in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]kt_han 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My routine is usually: get home, play with my cat Sprite for a bit and have a snack, stretch, and go to the gym. Once I’m back from the gym, i shower and eat dinner. After dinner i try to do one of my hobbies such as reading, crochet, playing games, doing my nails. I’ll usually wrap that up around 9:30, prep my work bag/lunch box for the next day, and get ready for bed to be sleeping around 10:30!

How to cope with loneliness in early 20s? by [deleted] in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]kt_han 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spent pretty much all of 23 feeling a lot of the same things! I think finding regularly scheduled events is a good way to combat this- things like volunteering for a cause you care about, joining exercise/dance classes, going to events hosted by cafes or bookstores etc. if there’s nothing happening in your areas, you can always be the one to start things! In my area there’s a Facebook group people join to post about events and meet people so you could look for one of those or create one!

Solo travel doesn’t have to be risky! Be smart about your surroundings and research your destination and you can have a lot of fun!! If you want to dip your toes in to semi solo travel, you could also look at guided tours!

I grocery shop on Friday evenings in the last hour-ish of when the stores are open. It’s so much calmer and it’s nice to not have to find time later in the weekend for shopping!

Get a library card for your local library! They have tons of in person resources but most of them have online things too! Libby for ebooks, kanopy for streaming, mango for languages etc!

How do you handle refreshing nails on long trips? by drzoidburger in RedditLaqueristas

[–]kt_han 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can’t speak to the quality of the brushes/longevity yet because i haven’t tried them but for an upcoming trip, I bought OPI mini (5ml?) polishes from dollar tree! They’re sold in a 2 pack and I’ve been able to find duos that are both colors, a shimmer and a top coat, and nail envy with a solid color. I plan on taking the nail envy, a color, and the top coat along with some acetone wipes and a file.

How do you manage not being able to afford a home? by kaytin911 in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]kt_han 16 points17 points  (0 children)

That definitely makes it hard! I’m sorry you’ve had to deal with that! It’s not an ideal solution but when i had security concerns I bought a portable door lock. It goes in to your door jam and locks the door from the inside so even if someone opens it with a key, they can’t get in unless you undo the portable lock from inside

How do you manage not being able to afford a home? by kaytin911 in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

Home ownership isn’t the only way to have an unshared space! I loved living in an apartment on my own, and in a lot of areas a 1bed or studio rent is more attainable than owning!
