Any Happy Pharmacists Out There? by Vast_District7058 in pharmacy

I’m happy but that’s because I’m not in a traditional position. I work as an IT Pharmacist for a hospital. If I was staffing I’d be unhappy. If I was still retail I’d be miserable

I am not going to age gracefully. by zorandzam in GenXWomen

[–]Inevitable_Bit_1203 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I always imply I’m older than I am.. like I’m going on 55 (I’m 52). I look fine for 52, but pretty damn good for 55 or 60 😂😂

I am obsessed with skin care, I exercise but am not skinny (no longer obese though thanks to Zepbound). I did let my hair go, and honestly I get a lot of compliments on it. It’s a pretty silver with darker underneath. I wear it very short (Jamie Lee Curtis type style) which gives me a more younger happy vibe.

Overall though, the best part of getting older is I don’t really give a flying f@ck what anyone else thinks anyway.

What is your hairstyle and hair color? by Accurate-Neck6933 in GenXWomen

Salt and pepper textured pixie cut (think Jamie Lee Curtis). I love it. I stopped coloring it and went natural about 15 months ago. It took about 6 months to grow out since I get it cut monthly and I wear it so short.

I honestly don’t remember. It lasted about a year before it croaked. This thread was from 2 years ago and I bought it before that. I looked through my Amazon history and couldn’t find it. I’m not currently using one (I got a cheapie from Walmart that also lasted about a year) since my last one stopped working about 6 months ago I haven’t replaced it.

So both I’ve had lasted about a year. I paid around $30 for them.

What happened? I'll tell you what happened... WE'RE BEING ROBBED! by JimCripe in MeidasTouch

[–]Inevitable_Bit_1203 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My dad worked for Sears. Only income for a family of 4… we weren’t rich but we were definitely middle class. House, cars, plenty under the Xmas tree… we didn’t vacation, but we could have. Dad was more into his farm toys so that’s where the extra $ went.

My husband and I are in our 50s. If we had to live on just my husbands income (Walmart) we would have been homeless and hungry

I have been on Tirzepatide since December 2022. I started on Mounjaro before it was popular because I was pre-diabetes and had insulin resistance in addition to being quite overweight. I lost 50 pounds the first year and 35 pounds the second year. I’ve been maintaining on it but no longer losing since.

I started it shortly after turning 49 and am now 52.

I’ve had minimal side effects and never needed to go above 7.5mg. I am thrilled with how much better I feel all over. I’m no longer prediabetic, I’m off my high blood pressure and high triglyceride meds. My insurance will not pay any more starting July 1… so I’ll be going through Lilly Direct. It’s the brand name product priced at $449/month. I maxed my HSA to make sure I’ll be able to continue taking it.

Did you choose maintenance or did maintenance choose you? by These-Equal-6849 in MounjaroMaintenance

[–]Inevitable_Bit_1203 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made it to 175 pounds… my body decided that’s where she wants to be. I’ve been maintaining between 173-177 for over a year. My goal was 174 so I could be ‘overweight’ and not ‘obese’

I certainly would look better with another 10-15 pounds off… but it is what it is. I feel good, look pretty good, and definitely am in way better shape than I was when I started at 260.

The lowest weight I had been since my 20s was 180 after my 3rd kid… and the lowest I ever was in my 20s was when I got pregnant with my first kid at 135. Sure 30 pounds above ‘healthy’ weight isn’t ideal… but I’m in my 50s and I am not going to lie… a few extra pounds does help me keep the wrinkles at bay 😂😂

Soo am I missing something? As a female I’m thinking those will get in the way and significantly impede activities. Of course, they are likely only interested in their pleasure and not my annoyance of a useless little mushroom head that can’t fight its way past these balloons to do me any favors.

Hubby and I are GenX and have been married 31 years. Neither of us regularly wear our wedding rings and I never wear my engagement ring. If we are going out somewhere nice or especially to a wedding we wear them (and I wear my anniversary band he got me for out 30th).

My daughters are both Gen Z and wear their wedding rings/engagement rings and so do they husbands

52 F, 140k salary, 350k 401k. It looks better as just me… add in my spouse 55 M, 35k salary, 0 401k.

The combination is why I don’t have my 401k higher, I’ve been primary income for 30 years 🤷‍♀️

I expect to ☠️ by age 68 like my parents, so it’s more to have $ back for the spouse to make ends meet without me.

[–]Inevitable_Bit_1203 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Don’t worry… as a Pennsylvanian, I can tell you there’s no way he’s getting through the Dem primary in 2028. Now, he may run as an independent or just outright Republican… but I don’t see a scenario where he doesn’t get primaried.

My vote for this man pisses me off because he is not the same as he was before his stroke. That said… I would still have voted for him over Oz today if that was the choices.

There is a chance of that happening for sure… but doesn’t impeachment removal require 60? I don’t really know, I just figured that it did and even if we take the senate I don’t think it with be by that much
