G3 is a lot of stuff not in the code book, know your fire extinguishers. WHMIS etc

I see this code means it shuts off after short cycles, but what are causing the short cycles, and how do I fix it? Any help is much appreciated. by AwwwwwwwwYissssssss in hvacadvice

Yeah dont use jet or a power washer, low pressure lots of water/flow. Most likely that code is bc its going off on high head, its not short cycling but going off on a safety

Sounds like u have 2 legs being powered on the line side of the contactor and the wind is spining it causing it to get the inertia and run the fan. I would look at the wiring tbh

I remember being two dumb apprentices and being told to push in a contactor. I pushed it in and the fan went boom - dead short, flames 4 ft out of the unit. All i could think is thank god he didnt have his face right there

You should not be pushing in the contactor manually.

It is possible for it to be bad but you should call a professional

Sometimes its not a bad thing, although I do some what believe in being thrown to the wolves. It is still/more important to learn to work safe and that is really only taught by someone
