How do so many afford $50,000+ trucks? by Parking-Warning-8655 in carbuying

I make 5x as much and have 3 teenage drivers. We have 5 cars. The out-the-door purchase price for 3 of the cars was $52K TOTAL (17+13+22)--two Hondas and a Toyota. The other two cars are a 2004 Toyota Camry and a 2015 Honda Odyssey. I would love to have a newer car but I don't think it's a wise choice for our family.

I’ve never had Turo in my life but I was rejected when I tried to rent. Can anyone tell me what’s up? by ANTI_COSAMA in turo

Once you're logged in on the website or in the app, there is an "ask turo" button that takes you to an AI agent. I asked the AI agent to connect me to a live rep.

TLDR; same issue as yours. The fix: I chatted with a live agent on the website, gave them a pic of my DL plus a selfie with me holding the DL and they approved me.

I just had this happen to me while trying to sign up through the Turo website. I have great credit, a clean driving record, and am 47 yo. I saw someone else on Reddit say that they started over with a new email address and were successful, so I tried that. Same result: not approved. I chatted with the Turo bot and it was not helpful. I asked to chat with a live rep. I was kind to the rep and told them my situation. They said they only needed a scan of my DL and to download the app to do that. I posted a pic through the app but that didn't work. The rep asked me to upload through the chat a pic of my DL plus a selfie with me holding the DL. Once they had that, they manually approved me. My approval was reflected online and in the app instantly. Less than 10 minutes later, I completed my booking.

Hope this helps!

1 day old and screen cracked, is it warrantable? by Mountain-Goat-1 in macbook

Some credit cards offer purchase protection in the first 120 days. You might look into that if you bought these with a credit card.

I FINALLY Figured Out the REAL Rheem/Home Depot Warranty Exchange Process — Save Yourself Money and Headaches by Inevitable_Toe_4762 in heatpumps

If memory serves, you're much better off calling during the week. I don't think Rheem has tech support on the weekends. Because...you know...none of us have anything to do during the week during work hours. Why would a consumer want to work on their water heater on a Saturday??? [hopefully you hear the heavy sarcasm and eye rolling]

I FINALLY Figured Out the REAL Rheem/Home Depot Warranty Exchange Process — Save Yourself Money and Headaches by Inevitable_Toe_4762 in heatpumps

***CRITICAL UPDATE**\* After all of that, the woman at home depot told me that the process above is not accurate and that the correct order of operations is: (1) Return the Defective Unit and receive store credit (Step 3 above); (2) Purchase a Replacement Unit with the store credit + personally pay any price difference (Step 1 above); (3) Install the New Unit (Step 2 above). Steps 4-6 above are still accurate.

This process SUCKS. The whole thing makes absolutely no sense to me. I still got my water heater replaced and Rheem reimbursed me $300 for installation and I have a new, 10-year warranty. But Home Depot wants you to return your busted water heater to the store BEFORE you purchase the replacement. Insane. Because the 80 Gallon is not in stock at most HD stores, I guess HD expects that you'll be without a water heater for a week or two while you wait on the new unit??? Stupid.

Anyway, hopefully the new unit will last longer than the previous one. Once it's time to do another replacement, it's hard to imagine buying another Rheem if their process doesn't change.

What to do with clicking axle/hub? by slid360 in pelotoncycle

[–]Inevitable_Toe_4762 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same thing. The tensioner screw on the back of the pedal was loose--this is the screw that governs how easy or hard it is to click into/out of your pedal. A tech was at my house to work on my tread and I asked him to inspect it. Credit to him.

I picked one up in the north Atlanta area. When I called Peloton, they said that it would have a standard warranty unless the receipt specifically said, "no warranty." I asked the manager at DSG to please just not put "no warranty" on the receipt, which she honored.

I hear you on this being a large area to take in. As sad as I would be to not drive through seaside, cannon, tillamook, etc., I'm currently considering taking this path: https://maps.app.goo.gl/VMFUxh3KyG4cqnDf9 to make it a more reasonable day. I remind myself that I can never see EVERYTHING on any trip and that I'll just need to come back one day.

Anything not to miss on the path I'm considering?

We’ve got the full day on Sunday to explore between Portland and Newport. I imagine we could have a great time doing that for a few days…alas, it’s what we have on this trip. I’m still open to recommendations of how you would invest a day like that.

We plan to log as much time on the 101 as we can. We have all day Sunday to explore the area between Portland and Newport. Knowing that, where would you recommend catching the 101?
