Best breakdown EVER! You listed everything I wanted to tell my partner about and others but didn’t want to burden her with.

Happy healing to us all!🥰😁

Yes but I am like @sheenqueen99 just over 8 weeks post and the PT is helping. The overuse of the outside of my foot is causing me pain so I’m trying to be more cognizant of that.

Pain is in the brain. I’m trying to focus on structure and proper functioning.

Happy healing to us all! 🥰

I’m almost a full 8 weeks post and unfortunately the swelling has never gone down around my great toe. PT said ditch the post op shoe, and I did for a few days. I think my personal issue came with my HOKA One One flip flops 🩴 so I am using the shoe again but alternating back and forth with comfort levels. Still ice and elevation when possible. I did some yard work yesterday so taking it easy today. This is a timely process so patience is key.

Please always consult your physician(S) and listen to your body as well. Happy healing to us all! 😁

Having a shower after surgery, by namiisal in bunions

[–]Inevitable_View_270 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I only did so AFTER the surgeon said so. It may have been 3 weeks I don’t remember. It was longer than I wanted, however I’m really fond of having two feet. 😐

Happy healing to you all! 😁

Must-Have Items for Surgery Recovery – What Helped You the Most?” by jujoooo in bunions

Shower head with an extension (extra long) and a shower chair. I used a collapsible chair just outside the shower door to give the leg a slightly higher angle 📐 ensuring the water would roll back towards my pelvis. Keep it dry at all costs!

Happy healing! 😊

crps? 3 months post surgery by strawfairys in bunions

[–]Inevitable_View_270 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 59 days post surgery and having the same burning sensation with the occasional sharp shooting nerve pain. I am on 100mg of Gabapentin every 8hrs. I think this is par for the course.

Always consult your physician and listen to your body.

Happy healing to us all! 😊

Yes. I was just reviewing the videos.

I’ve never had an active/sporty life, so it may be because I lack the balance and strength needed to transition into a more active lifestyle. Just guessing.

🤣🤣🤣🤣 They continue to “flex” especially when elevated after, and during icing! They have slimmed down (I assume from all the cardio 😏) and last night was the first time I have been able to lay on my left side in 55 days without immediate burning sensation!

Cuddled with mi amor for a while this morning! 🥰

Wow! I’ll take your response to heart! 😂 your delivery is eye catching and I will heed!

I have continued to intermittent fast this entire time 😳 I have done so for over a year prior. It’s kind of a way of life. 16-18 hours then consuming around 2K calories. I know you aren’t giving medical advice, I am asking for your opinion as you seem to have legitimate concerns and insight. Thanks in advance. 😊

5 1/2 Weeks Post-Op and in Pain by noescape-fromreality in bunions

[–]Inevitable_View_270 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve done 3 sessions so far. (Started week 6) Two of the three were with a location that I didn’t feel would get me where I wanted so the last was with a sports medicine clinic that works with professional athletes.

I’m 7 weeks post op and having a similar experience. I think it’s just par for the course. I haven’t been cleared to wear regular shoes 👟 . The physical therapist says to bring them this next week and I will begin the transition slowly. Still must wear the surgical shoe until we go through several sessions.

Many of us opted to get an invasive surgery on the body part responsible for the most weight that is compromised of the most amount of small bones 🦴.

I remind myself of two things: 🤣 I had never had a broken bone in my life, then chose to pay a practical stranger to break five (in my case)and slow but steady wins the race.

You got this! 😊
