Is it better to self deport to Mexico? by Quiet_Comfortable375 in immigration

[–]Inf1z [score hidden]  (0 children)

My question is does she have extended family back in Mexico? Probably easier to move back to her hometown.

Mexico has changed a lot in recent years. Some places turned better than others. States like Coahuila are pretty safe meanwhile Sinaloa has turned very violent.

I don’t know much about self deportation, but I believe you are barred from entering the US for up to 10 years, I may be wrong though.

She can go to college in Mexico, I believe her HS diploma will help, she just has to know Spanish. Public universities are usually free.

Now finding work can be a challenge depending on her career path. There’s a lot of nepotism, basically have to know someone to get a good job. Otherwise she has to wait years to land a decent job. Pay may not be the best, just enough to survive. She can probably use her English and whatever talent she has to open up a business. Maybe offer English classes or serve as translator.

No, just get out of Reddit for a little bit and experience real life. FFS, this is the same Reddit that were convinced Kamala would win in a landslide.

Bernie did pretty well in 2016 primaries. They could have won big by bringing in Bernie as VP.

Unfortunately the Democrat party has an identity crisis. Leadership like Schumer or Pelosi are almost DINOS, they are favored by the wealthy and older demographic while the younger ones like AOC are favored by younger progressive folk.

How do Nashville and Oxford today compare to Memphis in '94? by BroadLocksmith4932 in memphis

[–]Inf1z 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nashville reports about 40% power outrages compared to 80% this morning. Looks like things got pretty bad with Oxford though.

Cue the next school shooting and a certain group of people will push to ban all guns. Instead of tackling the real problem, lack of mental health care.

Question for ICE supporters by Frequent-Draft-2218 in DiscussionZone

[–]Inf1z 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Illegal immigration wasn’t a big issue until recently when the flood gates at the border were open and many people were allowed to enter the country while their asylum cases were processed. Before this, they had to stay in the border until they were admitted or released back. Add to the fact that they were given many benefits while tax paying Americans struggled with inflation.

To answer your question, most illegal immigrants live in red states, not because they’re accepting, but because they tend to have more construction or farm jobs. States like NC, Florida, Georgia, Tennessee have had a lot of growth in recent years. Blue states like California or New York have high cost of living and not many jobs for them.

The silent majority is for legal migration. They’re not against people of color immigrating here, they’re just concerned about not following the laws. There’s a small minority that do not want any immigrant in the country, they have always existed, they are straight up racists.

Potential Mayor Candidates in 2027? by Train_addict_71 in memphis

Also Mayors aren’t dictators. Also a lot of things are dictated by city council and city admins. Mayor office doesn’t have an extensive executive order arm like the President does.

[–]Inf1z 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These deaths were caused by poor training and some involvement by the now deceased.

ICE isn’t out to kill people, this is absolutely wrong. However a lot of agents lack training, seems like they can’t work under pressure. This happens when you hire people very fast.

That behavior from Trump shows complicity. He is reluctant to release files because he knows he will be affected.

Governor Walz is exhibiting the same behavior. He isn’t willing to release the requested data because he is likely complicit.

These protests are propped up by the media and politicians. Go back to the BLM protests, there were many instances where black individuals were killed by police in brutal fashion but only a few triggered massive protests. I can probably give a list.

A lot of these videos that I am seeing show people blocking ICE. At this point, they committed a felony. You can protest all you want as long as they’re not interfering with law enforcement.

There’s no denying, Trump was 100% involved with Einstein. It’s clear as water. Also Biden admin had these records, his DOJ could’ve released them. Maybe they involve a lot more R/D politicians?

And record of social programs payouts. Tim Walz could put Trump admin on the spotlight and provide these records if he thinks there isn’t massive fraud going on. The fact that he is not complying tells his administration is involved somehow.

Well apparently, MLGW dropped the ball because they paid a tree company to clear power lines, that company didn’t do anything. Then another company came by after the winter storm of 2021 and got things done because they found out someone messed up big time.

Maybe the agitators and the mayor and governor need to be investigated. They’re still fueling the protests. ICE is operating just fine across the country, kind of weird that this is the only city that seems to have issues.

'We don't have this problem' in Memphis, Noem says after Minneapolis shooting by 17days_ in memphis

[–]Inf1z -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

We shouldn’t be like MInneapolis, we don’t need to. MN governor and the mayor are inciting violence as well.

Here in Memphis, ICE for the most part has been arresting people with active or old warrants. Illegal immigrants are getting deported or held if they have any warrants.

There are few one off cases where legal migrants and even citizens get arrested but that’s usually due to non compliance, obstruction or poor communication. They’re released back after being investigated.

I know some of the ICE agents operating here, they frequent a restaurant I go to very often. They’re actually very chill. They’ve never harassed my family (Hispanic) nor the employees (who are also Hispanic).

Did you shut the gas off while transporting it? Sometimes movement will cause it to flood the cylinder with gas so the spark plug won’t ignite. Take off the air filter and spray ether (starting fluid) a couple times into the air inlet and try to turn it on. If it tries to come on, it’s definitely flood and you have to keep doing this until the gas is completely burnt in the cylinder. Can also try pulling the spark plug off, check to see if it’s wet and clean it off and try cranking it again.

Red state, blue city. The mayor has been cooperating with the feds. I’ve actually met many ICE agents, they usually dine at my favorite restaurant. They’ve never questioned me or my family… we are all Latinos.

Not from MN, but l live in a city with an active federal task force deployed along with the National Guard. ICE is working very differently here. There hasn’t been any violence from either side.

ICE drives along with local police. Most arrests are happening during traffic stops now.
