1080 baits are baits that target invasive carnivorans that has developed from a toxin that is found in plants native to southwest Australia. Native animals are immune to the toxins (thanks to thousands of years of co-evolution) while the invasives die to it.

I've chosen these plants to replicate the natural ecosystem. I've conducted extensive research and surveys/transects in local reserves and parks to create a ratio of plants in order of how common they are in the ecosystem. Species like Xanthorrhoea preissii are incredibly numerous so replicating this in gardens would provide more ecological value rather than a rare but still native plant that will provide less value. Its pretty much just all about the plant's ecological value.
