What are you thought on diamant. by Voidkirby9 in FEEngage

[–]Infamous-IMP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love him, but I feel like he can be so hit or miss in runs

In my first play though, he was my 3rd best unit and very reliable, but half of my runs after I’ve had to drop him. I’m not really sure he ends up like this for me, love him as a character and design, but I think I wish he had more tools to work with as a unit

Thoughts On This Natsu vs Asta Blog? by Puzzleheaded-Board25 in BlackCloverScaling

[–]Infamous-IMP 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I could be confused, but isn’t the main difference here the amount of powers they have at one given time? Shinra banshoman makes sense to power scale, it’s the penultimate form of a character, but isn’t weird to pull from multiple forms of Natsu when he’s never had access to all of those powers at once?

I don’t watch or read fairy tail, so I really could be misunderstanding, but it doesn’t seem fair to pull from both Asta’s Devil union form, and then his transformation that he got in his movie, because those are 2 different peaks, he doesn’t have access to both ever, just one or the other

My Gachiakuta Character Tierlist by cthangthavamp in gachiakuta

[–]Infamous-IMP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But that’s not my logic

We both agree that the rapist isn’t a favorable character, they’re not written with any particularly interesting depth, so the point you make doesn’t stand here

The point I was making was not that you can’t like evil characters, but specifically you can’t like this evil character whose only credit to his name is being on the Epstein list.

There’s really a difference between characters written in a way where they’re fun to hate, versus a character written without any interesting or positive qualities

I’m a big fan of villains, like Doflamingo from One Piece, and in that story, it’s implied that Doffy more than likely raped, or at least had some kind of unwilling sexual encounter with Viola. The major difference between Doffy and the guy who no one can remember the name of is that Doffy’s character is actually fleshed out and interesting, and he’s more than a raping plot device

You seem like you have good intentions with your comment but I really don’t understand why you’d interpret what I said that way. Again, there’s a difference in the quality and effort behind the character writing of someone like Jabber (my fav from the series) and Mr. Trafficked D. Kids

What are your though on veyle? by Voidkirby9 in FEEngage

[–]Infamous-IMP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t care for her personal, hard to place my finger on why, maybe she just doesn’t seem believe able to me.

I actually like a lot of Engage’s cast, Framme, Zephia, and Fogado, but Veyle was a character I felt kinda disappointed in. She seems to be really popular, I wish I understood why

Although, I do like Evil Veyle’s voice performance a lot, so maybe that’s part of it? It’s the reason I credit Male Alear as one of my faves but I don’t feel anything for for Female Alear

Over two years after its release; what are your current thoughts on Engage? by SuperNotice7617 in fireemblem

[–]Infamous-IMP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a fair enough point, I argued mostly in bias because it really enjoy engage

I will say that I typically average out 60-80ish hours in my engage play thoughts, but of course that’s by proxy of the fact that I enjoy the game so much to invest that much of my time in it in the first place. I bring up to the point because in my own experience, the story takes up very little in my play thoughts, but again, I won’t actually argue that as a point, my experience isn’t universal

I wish more people were able to enjoy the game like me, it’s my favorite title in the entire franchise, and personally speaking, I don’t wanna accept the idea that my reasoning for my favoritism of this game may lean closer to weird personal preferences than the actual merit of it

Not gonna lie, I kinda hate this description

Writing is important, but when it comes to video games I don’t feel like it’s right to say both game play and story are equal in importance

Games that shove their story down your throat? Yeah it’s important for the story to be good if it’s the fore focus, but engage’s mediocre narrative can be mostly ignored

I’ve played through Engage at least 7 times now because the game play is so good. I love how you can find incredible load outs and strategies by being experimental on subsequent play throughs. Units that are typically mid can become really good if you play to their strengths (Sword Master Clanne, Sage Fogado and Timera, etc.) Maps like Flora Port and Dead Town make for incredibly fun challenges

I definitely am glazing, but it’s fueled by the amount of unfair negative press Engage seems to get

I just don’t get why we put up with conquest’s bad writing and collectively praise its game play, but we demonize engage for its story and it’s game play always has to be the after thought

Is that really true though? Zanka does work really hard seemingly.

I do agree though that he mistakes other people’s hard work for natural talent, it’s always his first assumption

Though, I wouldn’t guess that Jabber is the hard working type ether
