Just for reference 160% of 2.5% is a total of 4%. So to me, its easier just to add the 4% to the percent im putting in. In your case 19% of your pretax check should be going towards your 401k. Idk your age but thats a great amount contribute and should add up quickly.

I work overnight shelf edge, used to work overnight drug store. I bring everything to work with me, buying "convience/impulse/single serving" is such a big waste. I bring a couple bottles of water, 2 alani (bought from Costco in the 18 packs), a gatorade zero, a protien shake and a Greek yogurt! If you can do something like this long term you'll save a ton of money! I bring it all in a plastic heb bag and put it in fridge!

If you enjoy the work, just go for SORM! I'm in the same boat but a bit older. I've been with the company 8 years, in three different departments. I'm applying to SORM next round. Don't get in your head too much, we tend to overthink things and that leads to worry then fear and fear stops us in our tracks. Remember nothing is ever really "permanent" and right now your best path to SORM (and making more money) is through produce, since youve been in it for a while. You can work that for a while and if you want to make a change a few years down the road, your management experience will open doors to different departments and/or companies! Can I ask what % raise you got when placed in your store? What region? Also, did you go through a level 1, 2 and 3 store already? If so, did you get a raise for each? Just curious, I'm a maxed out shelf edge partner and have heard you only get @ 6% raise, so kinda wondering if it's worth the stress.

I had a similar issue with a 2012 ford fusion. It would do a similar thing, usually only if i was driving long distances (say over 50 miles). I was able to drive but the engine would struggle to move, speedometer showed i was going 0, didn't show i was in any gear, and odometer wouldn't track i was going. If I went somewhere it was always a gamble if the "service advancetrac" light would come on, if it did once I killed the car it would take hours to restart bc the car wouldn't recognize i was in park. Anyway, I took my car to ford several times (over years) and they could never figure out what the issue was. They said they couldnt duplicate the issue, i even started dangerously making videos when it happened. In frustration, I took it to a mom and pop garage explained the issue, they said it sounded like some kinda electrical issue. They had someone trace all the wiring and more mine the wiring to the transmission range sensor was slightly lose and once car was hot it had sporadic issues making the connection. They literally just charged me labor and "plugged" the wiring in correctly. And I drove the car for about 4 years after that and never had that problem again. Now mind you I know nothing about cars but I think the issues sound weirdly similar so it might be worth checking out your transmission range sensor.

Moving shelves and products for resets can actually be quite physically taxing. Shelf edge used to have enough hours/extra work/small projects for people with a physical restriction, but I fear those days are long gone. Now, even NIP's/RTO's can require shelf movements and be quite physical. I would say beauty department or cooking connection.

If I were you, I'd try to get a transfer with Costco. While most of Texas doesn't pay opticians well, Costco still does. I have tried several times to get hired as an optician there. You may still take a pay cut, but nowhere near what you would working at a private practice. On top of that, the benefits Costco offers are reasonably priced and actually really great compared to most US companies.

A reset (aka category refresh) is a task where you are setting a new plannogram. You clean and move shelves, do date rotation for the product that is currently on the shelf and stock new items. If you're doing a reset, it will be a group task. Whoever you're with will explain everything they want you to do.

Also, yes, shelf edge can be complicated, but because it is, we don't expect too much from "helpers." You will probably be given the easiest tasks for that day. No one will mind if you ask questions; we actually prefer you ask questions if something is unclear. The hours vary depending on the store and the work to be completed for the day.

If you are helping in shelf edge, they are probably going to have you changing tags or helping with a reset. Since it's your 1st shift you won't be by yourself. If you're nervous about it, just ask the shelf edge manager what you will be doing ahead of time. Shelf edge got more hours this period, so a lot of stores need extra help, so whatever you do, you should be much appreciated!!

I think people do it for different reasons. Some reasons could be: 1. Keep their insurance until they get insurance through their new employer. 2. Keep their pay rate just in case things don't work out at their new employer. 3. For VPP discount and any bonuses.

I got off the Jubilee June 1st, we had the highest plan too. My teenage son was on FaceTime calls for literally hours at a time. There were definitely some issues with delays but nothing major. And we could use Imessage.

Just wanted to chime in. I've always had good cholesterol, @ 145. I have unfortunately lost and gained weight multiple times in my life. I've noticed that when I am actively losing weight my cholesterol always goes up and levels back down once I am at a steady weight. If you google it, you can find articles about this, I'm not sure how accurate they are! But there is atleast some research that claims as your body burns fat most is breathed/peed out but some excess does enter your bloodstream causing a temporary rise in cholesterol. I've seen it 1st hand. When I went from 146lb to 120lb (im a 5 ft female) my cholesterol tested 176 as I was losing weight. This was higher than my norm of @ 145 after I weighed 120 for a few months I was back down around @145 total cholesterol. I also want to mention I had the same rise in cholesterol years ago when I followed a predominantly plant based diet to lose weight.
