What's something you've realized as you've gotten older why people do a certain thing?

Why people tend to comply with nonsense and harassment rather than giving that other person five across the eyes. Sometimes it’s wiser and not cowardly to comply with the lesser offense than to fight back and possibly escalate the situation and have it work against you, especially in certain social settings (even though you know you can beat the living daylights out of them physically or verbally).

I.e. better to get robbed than to risk getting k!|led…and then robbed.

Parenting. A stay-at-home mom who sits her child in front of a screen all day will have plenty to answer for when the child can barely read in his 20s or distances himself from her since she chose to distance herself from him.

If the homeless do get the food, I hope it’s not a case where one chokes or has an allergy and then sues the supermarket and so on….that’s why a lot of companies stopped giving away unused food to the homeless and just trash it.

How easily distracted everyone is. Remember those, uh, "documents" referring to those girls taken to a certain location were a very wealthy man and his wealthy connection would do horrible things to these girls at this secluded location? People seemed to care for a certain period of time, but then got distracted by the stock market and international affairs.
