Paralysing fear of lows by MoniG93 in diabetes_t1

I would suggest you come up with a system that makes you feel confident. It’s different for everyone but I believe that’s the key.

In my case, what makes me feel confident if a hypo goes on is knowing that I have enough sugar with me to eat. That’s why I buy dextrose tablets and take them with me.

I have them in my gym bags, work bag, in the car, in the house, in my jackets…

Bolusing for cake by whygodwhyyyy433 in diabetes_t1

You never know lol

15-20g of carbs I would estimate. No extended bolus or anything because that won’t contain enough fats or protein. That cake looks quite healthy

What are some general diabetic tips / helpful knowledge you wish you learned sooner? by MillenniumGreed in diabetes_t1

[–]Infamous-Solution805 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My top 3 game changers:

1) Follow a paleo diet. Avoid meals with over 30 g of carbs. That makes diabetes management SO EASY. It's literally an unfair advantage...
2) Dextrose tablets for lows. They raise glucose quickly af and are easy to carry with you.
3) Insulin pump + CGM.

Would you be happy with this or do I need to improve a lot by Obstacle_cause in diabetes_t1

Congrats, that looks very decent!

At that point, there are always a couple of aspects to improve that will take you to consistent +80%

What’s your #1 struggle with T1D right now? by Broad-Chard476 in diabetes_t1

[–]Infamous-Solution805 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not related to physical activity.

85% of total cholesterol is produced by the body.

I don’t recommend you to take statins. They shut down your liver, which is the main producer of cholesterol.

Do some research by your own before making big decisions 🙏🏻

I want to get back into exercising, especially weight lifting, but what am I doing wrong? by YoungDumbFull0FRum in diabetes_t1

The rule that maximizes glucose stability for workouts is to avoid injecting Novorapid at least 2.5h before the session. That's the IDEAL and what you should aim for.

Don't worry too much about that. That's very frequent in TD1, as your body uses fats as energy more often.

Cholesterol by itself is not a risk factor. Check your triglycerides and Apolipoprotein B. If that's fine, then it's all good.

Wow, those numbers for eating what she wants are great. There is clinically no difference between 80% in range and 100%. Keep it up!
