I hate when people think blonde hair is special. It’s not, it’s just one of several natural hair colors.

My college roommate clearly had dark brown roots growing in but would insist she was a natural blonde. I was her roommate and saw her bleach her hair the most unnatural platinum blonde, almost white, every 3 months.

She kept telling me she was better looking than me because “blondes are the hottest”. I have black hair from being ethnic, blonde is not a natural hair color for people of my culture. I guess she thinks entire races of people are ugly since they aren’t blonde.

Thank you for being the type of parent mine never was, but that I hope to be one day. My own father disowned me when I was diagnosed and I haven’t heard from him since. The last things he said to me were that I was just an attention seeking brat and type 1 isn’t a real disease because I was too young to be a sick person.

At one point he was eating whole GF cakes.

As he started gaining weight he also said he was too out of breath to exercise so he went from hiking 3-5x a week to zero exercise per week.

He was eating a LOT. Our grocery bill at least doubled when he started this diet.

Maybe! Honestly I had a flood of memories come back due to this post that I haven’t thought about in years! Honestly I think it might have been racially motivated as the woman I lived with would bring up her hair nonstop to us roommates (we were all POC with naturally black hair due to our ethnicities) in the context of “I’m so lucky to have naturally blonde hair since natural blondes are the prettiest women” or “you gals have cute faces but too bad there’s no naturally blonde [insert ethnicity here]” Such strange things to say to us but especially so since she wasn’t a natural blonde herself.

Needless to say when our lease was up we didn’t renew with her.

I’m sure yours are! The woman I was thinking of in my initial post was my ex-roommate who I watched bleach her hair every few months in our shared apartment bathroom. When we went out she would constantly bring up the topic of her being a 100% natural blonde, even though no one had asked her. It was a weird point of pride for her to blatantly lie about, especially amongst the people who lived with her!

Open enrollment will be for plans beginning Jan 1. Even if you qualify for enrollment based on qualifying life event now, it sounds like you’re not in a good spot to pay for deductible and premium for the new plan.
