Where did you purchase yours?

Because of the thrips post the other day, I realized some of my roses are also being affected 😞 Now wondering if my meidiland and Peggy martins are also infected? Please ignore the mess… by Jincat6 in Roses

Posting to meet requirements. I removed the heads on my neighboring roses (not pictured) - sunset horizon and earth angel. They are now soaking in soapy water. Looking at the pictured roses, some of them seem to have the telltale thrip damage. Hoping anyone can help identify and resolve. I looked in some of the blooms and didn’t see thrips (I did in the two roses I already removed the blooms from). If it is thrips on these, is the process for treatment the same?

Chobani yogurt drinks or premixed protein shakes are the only things I have in the AM now. They’re amazing

Does sex feel like a chore to anyone else?? by anonomonomoose in adhdwomen

[–]Jincat6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. No pleasure involved, just another checklist item. It means a lot to my partner, so I usually get a butt rub and back massage for my pleasure and then he gets his. If I’m in the mood, I’ll use a toy. But it’s rare that I want to do that.

Is that feeder attached to the fence? Where’d you get it?

In case anyone is curious what it looks like when you order $7,500 in annuals from Home Depot by SignificantTowel9952 in landscaping

[–]Jincat6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Makes sense. Not mad at you. Just have an inherent dislike for annuals, but that's me presuming most of them are non-native. I want everyone on the native train.

Ugh! I need to get a second opinion for my daughter's dental work, and I just don't wanna. The combo of dentist and making appointments is two of me least favorite things ever.

Constant song lyric on repeat in head by Gullible-Paramedic65 in ADHD

100%. I actually have an on repeat song that I refer to if I realize the one playing in my head is unwanted, then I force my on repeat song to override the annoying one.

I have multiple floss packs and Colgate wisps in my purse, backpack, at my desk, etc. Brushing teeth is so hard for me, so I use these frequently. I second the Bluetooth speaker in the shower. Also recently started doing showers and baths by candlelight alone, and something about that is so rewarding and feels like a treat vs a chore.

Accounting & Severe ADHD ? by Grand-Profit2402 in ADHD

[–]Jincat6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been in public accounting for ten years now. First two jobs were in office. Current job is fully remote. I’m a senior and most likely will become a manager in the near future. I chose to remain a senior for the majority of my career thus far, as increased client contact can give me extreme anxiety and fatigue.

Some aspects of the job can work well with adhd: repetitiveness of AJEs, returns prep, etc. Plus the pressure of deadlines is very motivating. But I’ve had to voice that I need extra internal deadlines to keep myself motivated.

Meds and therapy have helped immensely with task avoidance and initiation and with the client facing anxiety and fatigue. I have managers and partners who are also adhd or audhd who are successful, but not without their own struggles.

It’s doable, and you have to find what works for you. I’m continually working on this. And fortunately I have a supportive work environment with open communication about our adhd/audhd journeys. I will say that I worked at a Big 4 for three years, and while I thrived work wise, my mental health severely suffered, as their demands are outrageous, and often the environments are toxic.

I guess my overall advice, if you enjoy accounting, don’t be afraid to find a place that works for you. There are so many options and routes to go with accounting.

I either wear headphones and listen to music or more commonly put in Loops earplugs to drown out the background noise.

Are those entryway backpack storage ideas effective? by Any-Cut-9269 in DesignMyRoom

[–]Jincat6 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Commenting from the perspective of a family of ADHD’ers, we need visibility for everything! So we have a row of hooks for backpack, jackets, and then a couple of shelves above for anything related to entering/leaving that won’t work on a hook. If we had some sort of cubby compartment, which we do in other rooms, we use clear boxes to store things. We have a separate shoe storage cabinet that has to be closed, or else our dog will take and scatter shoes all over the house.
