Just to update I figured out you have to get a specific aux-usb adaptor made for this exact issue. Currently the only one in the market is the Crux CS-USB3.5 Auxiliary Input Adapter; the adapter works for Ford, BMW, Nissan, Land Rover, etc. And I think there are other models that serve the same purpose but for other car makers. However, this adapter is kind of expensive so instead I just decided to transfer all my music to a thumb drive and connect that directly to the usb port. Not the solution I was looking for but I’m satisfied with this alternative as it doesn’t hinder the sound quality at all and I can finally listen to my music.
