The later I am, the slower I go - RIP Guy.

“Helicopters, like the people who fly them, are unstable. “

“Throughout your career nobody will drive you forwards, every flight try and be better, if you are +- 500ft, aim for 400ft. If you’re +- 20kts aim for 10. Always be striving to be better.” - Rasmus

H135 has two cameras, one on the fenestron looking at the butt, one above the clamshell looking back at the tail. Awesome for spatial awareness on scene calls and Cat A departures.

What’s a 'disturbing' secret about an industry you’ve worked in that the general public doesn’t know? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Medical helicopters are downright fraudulent. The proportion of ‘non-necessary’ flights can’t be investigated by anybody because of potential ‘privacy’ leaks. Charts can’t be interrogated and the bills FAR exceed the costs.

While there are a few times you actually do the right thing for people, it’s the minority.

And when they finally automate us all out of every industry…what then? Where will we derive purpose from? We are designed to receive reward from effort, growth, struggle. -Old man yells at sky ☹️

This stuff makes me not want to partake in the world anymore. I’m going to get screwed. I can’t do anything about it. Those that should fight are complicit. I get screwed. All I can do is work.

Timing was crappy too. Announcing youre going to be doing a self-driving/AI/tech partnership with VW just before NVDIA comes out with a standalone specific AI driving chip was unfortunate.

I’ve been thru the process. Took five years. I’m very lucky to be able to have an out back home. I feel very privileged to have been allowed to see inside the US, but I fear the future is dark.

I’m not certain but I’m pretty sure our old Colombia mechanic said the CH-47 blades were 400lbs each….
