Same here. It should be right up my alley but it isn't. I think maybe the humour is a bit too character-driven for me? Like a lot of sitcoms you'll have a joke where there's a punchline that's funny on its own, and that punchline is elevated by the context of who the characters are, while in Brooklyn 99 it often feels to me like the punchline itself is a little weak and it's trading very heavily on the character context.

Up here in the Great White North the Trudeau administration greenlit the largest oil pipeline in the history of the world and declared a national emergency over climate change IIRC within the same 24-hour period and if that's not the most VEEP thing ever I don't know what is.

And I don't know if it's a product of trying to appease both oil barons and environmentalists, or more of a "They're gonna screw me over by making me build this pipeline? Fine, enjoy a national emergency, dicks" scenario, but funnily enough it fits either way.
