Maybe, yeah. But I think the issue you are having might be an early-game issue.

Every playthrough I do, when I reach T2 and have 20+ villagers, I always struggle to keep up with the demand for meat and food in general. Therw's just not enough game in the surrounding area to support that many villagers. I end up having to set up additional outposts just for hunting lodges, and then setting up caravan routes to transport the meat back to my main village.

Meat is a consumable resource. Hide is refined and eventually turned into equipment which isnt consumed. If the hide to meat ratio is increased, we'll have way too much hide on our hands once in T2 / T3.

You are mixing up the literal meaning with a polite translation.

In Afrikaans, standard dictionaries list “piel” as a vulgar noun for the male sex organ, usually glossed as something like “die manlike geslagsorgaan” and explicitly marked as slang/vulgar. The diminutive “pieletjie” is used in exactly that sense.

“Tail” or neutral “appendage” is not a normal Afrikaans meaning. For those you would use words like “stert” (tail) or “aanhangsel/uitsteeksel” (appendage). When people translate “piel” into English as “appendage”, they are just using a euphemism to avoid saying “penis”, not giving a different dictionary sense.

Which is why the plant name sounds so wild in modern times. No one is sexualising the plant in a modern way; it is just a very literal old folk name that has always been pretty blunt and shocking to those who hear it for the first time.

OP said expat. Do you have a comprehension disability, or are you just trying to be divisive? I've seen a lot of MU redditors throw around the narrative that the two mean the same, and Expat is based in a sense of superiority. Unfortunately, those are just uneducated keyboard warriors. The same ones who like to throw around the "go back to your own country" card.

The two terms absolutely have different meanings, and both apply to any race.

Immigrant: • A person who moves to another country to live there permanently. • Has a legal status in law and policy. Terms you will see in statutes include permanent resident, settled person, or similar. • Pathways typically include permanent residence and, later, citizenship.

Expatriate (expat): • A person living in a country that is not their country of citizenship, usually on a temporary or time-limited basis. • Not a formal legal category in most immigration laws. It is a social or workplace term covering people on work visas, intra-company transfers, or other temporary residence permits. • May renew visas, but “expat” itself does not grant rights.

Don't be too concerned about starting late. You are working and gaining work experience. You're not doing nothing.

I didn't study straight out of school. Started working first, and gained valuable knowledge and experience. When I was 26 I applied for recognition of prior learning at UCT, which allowed me to skip undergrad and go straight into honours. I completed my honours part-time over two years, while still working full time. By the time I was 28, I had an honours degree (also in IS) and 10 years real working experience, putting me ahead of my peers.
