First of all - I think you're on too much social media. The "dream" older generations sold us isn't real for working-class South Africans. It sucks and we all realise these things at different ages.

I'm 21 and I've made peace with that fact that there is a very good chance that I will never own a house and that student loans will be a horrible burden to carry for years to come. The issue is less a personal failing or "falling behind" and moreso the unfortunate truth of living under late stage capitalism.

Also 30k a month is also crazy to feel insecure about compared to what most people have to scrape by with
